Lego Technic's latest Ultimate Car Concept Series model, the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear, isn't just another highly detailed 1:8-scale supercar replica. To celebrate its launch, Lego and Koenigsegg built a full-size, drivable version made from more than 327,000 Lego elements and sent it up the famous Goodwood hill climb. Driven by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh, the life-size build reached 111 km/h (69 mph), more than doubling the previous Lego Technic speed record of 50 km/h. The feat is remarkable not only because the car was capable of real-world performance but also because it demonstrates how far Lego Technic engineering has evolved beyond static display pieces. The achievement perfectly embodies Lego Technic's long-running "Build for Real" philosophy. The full-scale model wasn't simply a giant sculpture; it incorporated functioning features inspired by the real megacar, including working Ghost mode, operational bodywork, and authentic engineering details. Weighing roughly 1800 kg (almost 4000 pounds) and requiring more than 9400 hours to design and construct, it blurs the line between toy and engineering while proving that Lego Technic can translate complex automotive concepts into fully functional machines. The set itself is every bit as ambitious. This 4104-piece Koenigsegg is the sixth model in the Ultimate Car Concept Series and features a working V-8 piston engine, a functional nine-speed transmission, Koenigsegg's distinctive Triplex suspension system, working steering, a removable roof, and a new rotating indicator that displays the selected gear. Its headline feature is a fully functioning Lego version of the famous Ghost mode. This feature simultaneously raises the rear clamshell, opens the dihedral synchro-helix doors and front hood, and folds the mirrors with a single movement. What makes this launch particularly notable is how Lego continues to raise the bar with each release. When the McLaren P1 debuted in 2024, Lego impressed enthusiasts with a
