The Lexus RZ was the luxury brand’s first dedicated electric model, sharing its e-TNGA platform with Toyota’s bZ4X but leaning hard into Lexus’s signature refinement and tech. As with all things Lexus, it is very easy to fall into the trap of thinking it may just be a Toyota with a big grille (okay, this doesn’t have a ‘grille’, but it does have the shape of one still…) and some thick carpet, but like literally every other Lexus you go into thinking that might be the case, it most definitely isn’t. Whatever black magic that Lexus uses to take Toyota’s and make them into genuinely convincing (and even class-leading) luxury cars is quite remarkable, and every time you drive a really nice Toyota and think to yourself “I wonder how Lexus will top this?”, they do. And in an extremely convincing fashion. The RZ 550e F Sport is the flagship of Lexus’ RZ range and the rest of that range - and the bZ4X range - prices have been slashed across the board for the new model. In fact, the price difference between this RZ 550e and its broadly comparative ICE-equivalent, the RX 500h F Sport is now in the BEV’s favour, with the 273kW RX dropping in at $143,900, while the 300kW RZ is just $134,900. In fact, the range-topping RZ 550e’s price is even less than the previous generation RZ’s starting point of $141,600 for the entry level RZ 450e Core. Despite these savage price drops, the RZ has picked up number of significant upgrades across the 2026 range, with the 550e F Sport landing here as an all-singing, all-dancing model packed with Toyota’s latest tech, including new Aisin e-Axle motors and revised control logic, as well as a steer-by-wire system that removes the mechanical link to the
