German supermarket chain Lidl has begun using a cabless autonomous electric truck from Swedish company Einride for daily transport between a logistics center and a store in Edermünde, Germany.
As InsideEVs reports, this is the first cabless truck with SAE Level 4 automation in the country to be used in daily operations on public roads.
According to him, the permit provides a basis for further scaling autonomous logistics.
Equipment and further plans The autonomous truck has nine external cameras, six radars, and four lidars.
Einride is also negotiating with Lidl’s parent company on the possible use of more autonomous trucks.
