Lucid Motors is partnering with a European mobility company called Bolt to develop its own robotaxis, and is looking to launch its autonomous ride-hailing services across the Europe within the next decade.
The two companies said they plan to jointly develop this fleet of self-driving cars based on Lucid’s soon-to-launch midsize EV platform.
The vehicles are expected to use NVIDIA’s Hyperion autonomous driving architecture, which combines high-performance computing with a standardized suite of sensors.
Bolt will also be in charge of operating the robotaxi fleets, which includes building the charging and fleet infrastructure and working with cities and regulators.
Lucid says the agreement also gives its newly established Lucid Technologies division more muscle, where the company’s work on artificial intelligence, advanced driver-assistance systems, and autonomous driving technologies all come together.
