Luck Stone, Caterpillar expand autonomous hauling collaboration

Irving, Texas-based Caterpillar Inc. and Luck Stone, a Richmond, Virginia-based producer of crushed stone, sand and gravel, have announced that they will expand their autonomous hauling technology collaboration.

Following more than 18 months of autonomous hauling at Luck Stone's Bull Run quarry, Caterpillar says the companies are expanding the technology to two additional Virginia operations.

In the pilot, Caterpillar implemented its Cat MineStar Command for Hauling system at the Bull Run quarry on a fleet of 777G trucks.

For Luck Stone, the company says technology is most valuable when it helps associates create safer, more consistent operations.
