May Mobility has appointed Balajee Kannan as Senior Vice-President of Autonomy Core Engineering, effective 29 June 2026, as the autonomous vehicle (AV) company advances towards global commercial deployment. Kannan joins from Motional, where he led level 4 AV development, with over 25 years in robotics. Kannan will oversee autonomy performance, perception, behaviour, mapping and localisation. Working alongside Jacob Crossman, Senior Vice-President of Autonomy Engineering, he brings prior experience from Argo AI, Amazon and GE. May Mobility has completed 550,000 commercial rides and 1.1 million autonomous miles in the US and Japan. The appointment builds on recent executive additions including Thomas Fennimore as Chief Financial Officer.
