Mercedes-Benz has introduced a thorough facelift for the C-Class sedan and estate for 2026 and beyond. This is the first major update for the fifth-gen C-Class, which debuted in 2021. As part of the update, the C-Class gets significantly revised styling inspired by the likes of the larger S-Class, a longer list of features and an upgraded set of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Prices for the 2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class start at 41,045 euros (Rs 45.43 lakh) in Germany. 2026 Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift powertrain updates Every engine option for the 2026 C-Class is now compliant with Euro 7 emission norms, and a 9-speed automatic gearbox and 48V mild-hybrid system continue to be standard fit. However, the latter features a new integrated starter generator (ISG) delivering a boost of up to 23hp and 205Nm. The pure-petrol C-Class is available in three variants, namely C 200, C 250 and C 300, all of which are powered by the ‘M 254 EVO’ 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol mill. This engine gets a new electric auxiliary compressor to mitigate turbo lag and develops 177hp and 270Nm in C 200 spec, 218hp and 320Nm in C 250 guise, and 258hp and 400Nm in the C 300 variant. The C 250 version can even be had with Mercedes-Benz’s 4Matic AWD system. Notably, the current India-spec C-Class C 200 sedan is powered by a 204hp 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, but Mercedes-Benz did not make any mention of this motor for the 2026 facelift. As for the diesel-powered C-Class, it comes with the ‘OM 654 EVO’ 2.0-litre 4-cylinder mill in two states of tune: 163hp and 380Nm (C 200d), and 200hp and 440Nm (C 250d).
