Synopsis: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones of several projects, besides inaugurating a few others in Hyderabad on Sunday Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, 10 May, inaugurated and laid the foundation for multiple development projects worth ₹9,400 in Telangana. The projects spanned various sectors, including railways, roads, energy infrastructure and textiles. Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and several other leaders attended the event held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Gachibowli. Modi later addressed a public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. The Prime Minister laid the groundwork for widening National Highway-167 into four lanes from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor, a route that connects Telangana to Karnataka. Once completed, the road would cut travel time and logistics costs across both states. Modi also laid the foundation stone for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in the Sangareddy district. He described it as part of a national drive to build industrial smart cities equipped with world-class infrastructure, a reliable power supply and advanced ICT networks—conditions designed to attract investments from global markets. He said the area would house car manufacturing, machinery and food processing industries, generating jobs for workers and new markets for farmers in Telangana. Modi inaugurated sections of the railways’ Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking project and the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass, both of which would reduce congestion on one of India’s busiest freight and passenger corridors.
