Among the candidate cities—including Changchun, Chongqing, Harbin, Jinan, Nanjing, Qingdao, Wuhan, and Xiamen—Harbin, Wuhan, and Xiamen advanced to the final voting round, with Wuhan ultimately winning by securing 178,854,028 votes. To date, NIO has not yet disclosed the specific date or agenda for NIO Day 2026. Historically, NIO Day events have typically featured major new product or technology launches. Since the inaugural NIO Day in 2017, each edition has been hosted in a different city and has unveiled key models such as the ES8, ES6, EC6, ET7, ET5, EC7, and ET9, along with core technologies including battery swap stations, ultra-fast chargers, intelligent driving systems, and in-house developed chips. NIO Day 2024 took place in Guangzhou, where the ET9 was officially launched alongside the debut of the new sub-brand “Firefly.” The 2025 event was held in Hangzhou, featuring the official launch of the all-new ES8 and marking the first time the event was moved to the autumn season.
