NIST Seeks Public Comment on Using AI for <b>Cybersecurity</b> Analysis

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has released for public comment an initial draft of a guide intended to provide “practical and actionable” uses of artificial intelligence (AI) for achieving alignment with NIST’s cybersecurity framework.

Published in mid-August, the draft guide, NIST SP 1353, titled “NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0: Quick-Start Guide for Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for CSF Analysis and Reporting,” provides tools for evaluating an organization’s current status of its implementation of CSF-aligned practices, as well as AI prompts that can be used as tools for creating a plan for achieving CSF target outcomes.

The draft guide also includes several “use cases” to illustrate how best to use AI and AI tools for the development and execution of an organization’s CSF strategy.
