According to the plan, the planned area covers more than 68,000 hectares. By 2050, the population is projected to be over 756,000 people; of which the urban population will be approximately 485,000, and the converted population from tourists will be approximately 271,000. The number of tourists is expected to reach approximately 17.4 million per year. The plan aims to develop Da Lat into a green, smart, and modern city while preserving its unique identity. Specifically, Lam Dong province prioritizes the development of a comprehensive infrastructure system, improving urban quality, and simultaneously preserving cultural heritage values and distinctive natural landscapes. One of the key focuses is researching and improving the transportation system, urban space, technical infrastructure, parking lots, and underground spaces to meet the long-term demands of population growth and tourism. The plan also aims to transform the five wards into a center for sustainable tourism, services, and economy; and to enhance resilience to climate change and environmental protection.
