Polyphony Digital continues to recruit developers for the Gran Turismo series, with positions covering vehicle simulation, artificial intelligence, graphics, online racing and game-engine development.

While these roles could contribute to the next Gran Turismo game, Sony has not officially announced Gran Turismo 8 or confirmed which projects the new employees will work on.

These positions cover several areas fundamental to modern racing simulation, suggesting that Polyphony intends to continue refining the technology behind the franchise.

Although Kazunori Yamauchi previously acknowledged that the studio had begun work towards the next Gran Turismo project, Sony and Polyphony Digital have not announced a game under the Gran Turismo 8 name.

Whether these improvements will appear in Gran Turismo 7, its eventual successor or both remains unknown.
