Announced at Gamescom 2026, it is the first product from a new multi-year partnership between Sennheiser and Mercedes-Benz. The headphone is based on the existing closed-back HD 620S, adds Mercedes-AMG styling, and includes Sennheiser’s detachable HD 500 BAM boom microphone for gaming and sim racing. Underneath the AMG treatment is the Sennheiser HD 620S, a closed-back headphone designed to offer useful isolation without giving up the spacious presentation associated with the company’s open-back models. It uses a 150-ohm dynamic driver, with a claimed frequency response of 6Hz to 30kHz, 110dB SPL at 1V RMS, and less than 0.05% THD at 1kHz/90dB SPL. Sennheiser has not announced a different driver, impedance, frequency response, or acoustic tuning for the Mercedes-AMG model. The differences are cosmetic and functional rather than a complete redesign. The most useful addition is the HD 500 BAM microphone, which connects through Sennheiser’s twist-lock system. It uses a 10mm cardioid condenser capsule intended to focus on the user’s voice while reducing surrounding noise. Inline controls handle volume and microphone muting, and the package includes a 1.5-meter 3.5mm cable, PC Y-adapter, and replacement windscreens.
