Gasgoo Munich- Seyond and Boonray Technology recently entered a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the deployment of autonomous and low-carbon solutions across the mining sector, according to a post on Seyond's WeChat account. The collaboration brings together advanced LiDAR sensing and large-scale autonomous mining operations to support the development of next-generation smart mines. Image source: Seyond Under the agreement, Boonray's autonomous mining trucks will be equipped with Seyond's Falcon LiDAR system, with both companies working to expand driverless solutions across a wide range of mining scenarios. The goal is to enable safer, more efficient, and zero-emission operations while advancing a scalable smart mining ecosystem. Mining environments present some of the most demanding conditions for autonomous systems, including high dust levels, extreme temperature variations, steep gradients, sharp turns, and heavy-load operations. These factors place stringent requirements on perception accuracy, long-range detection, and all-weather reliability. Boonray has established itself as a leading player in electric autonomous mining trucks, with deployments across more than 30 mining sites in China, spanning coal, metals, and construction materials. Its solutions support fully automated operations, including both driverless hauling and unmanned battery swapping. As of January 2026, the company's fleet had accumulated over 60 million kilometers of operational mileage, with some sites maintaining nearly four years of continuous, incident-free operation—an indicator of its commercial maturity and operational stability. Seyond, for its part, brings extensive expertise in LiDAR technology and large-scale deployment. Its Falcon platform delivers high-resolution, image-grade perception, long-range detection, and strong resistance to environmental interference, enabling reliable performance in complex mining conditions. The company's sensing solutions have been tested across more than 20 mining sites nationwide, supporting the safe, routine operation of nearly 10,000 autonomous mining trucks—demonstrating both technical robustness and adaptability to real-world scenarios. The partnership represents a convergence of Seyond's advanced 3D perception capabilities
