Singapore’s Roadbuster system processed 120,000 speeding cases in two years by using existing red-light cameras, according to a CNA report.
Roadbuster was developed by OGP in early 2024 to help the Traffic Police process speeding offences detected by red-light cameras, at a time when road safety concerns were mounting.
Although the cameras could capture images of speeding vehicles, the legacy system lacked the capability to process these cases in bulk.
Over its two-year run, the tool processed approximately 120,000 speeding cases.
Red-light cameras can also help detect speeding, and their enforcement capabilities are increasingly supported by automated data processing.
