MIRI: Kenyalang Smart City is set to be equipped with high-capacity fibre and 5G infrastructure under a proposed collaboration between SACOFA Sdn Bhd and its master developer, Imasa Dinasti Sdn Bhd.

SACOFA chief executive officer Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff said reliable connectivity would be essential as Sarawak accelerates its digital transformation.

“Through this collaboration with Imasa, we look forward to exploring SACOFA’s telecommunications infrastructure and connectivity capabilities to support the vision for Kenyalang Smart City and its long-term digital requirements,” he said.

The proposed solutions include end-to-end fibre architecture, enterprise connectivity, Internet of Things (IoT) systems, network redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities.

According to a statement, specialised connectivity requirements will also be studied for the development’s medical and teaching hospital, convention centre and smart city management systems.
