Solectrix’s SXIVE image-processing technology has been integrated into rFpro’s AV elevate platform, enabling virtual camera pipeline development for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving (AD). Engineers can now design, model and tune camera pipelines before hardware exists, helping Tier 1 suppliers meet OEM demand for digital twins. The integration supports tuning of image signal processing (ISP) and camera parameters against edge cases, training perception models with synthetic data, and testing vision pipelines under varied conditions. Engineers can tune steps such as debayering, colour correction, tone mapping and denoising in simulation. In a statement, Dr Roman Tzschoppe, R&D manager at Solectrix, said: ‘Our collaboration with rFpro enables engineers to run hundreds of thousands of test scenarios and generate highly specific training data for perception models.’ He added this would not be feasible using hardware alone. Matt Daley, technical director at rFpro, said camera-based perception is central to ADAS and autonomous vehicle performance, making ISP tuning a key competitive differentiator. He added the simulation offers a faster, safer way to tune systems than public-road testing. The technology also applies to camera-based human-vision systems, such as digital mirrors and surround-view systems in cars, buses and trucks, where low sun and bright headlights create tuning challenges.
