Really accurate. Especially the security budget. Risk accepted by management, controls expected by everyone else, and somehow the budget still gets squeezed until there’s barely anything left. The important part is remembering that security isn’t about eliminating all risk. It’s about making sure leadership understands what they’re accepting. Preferably before the breach turns it into next year’s priority. 😉
