The Wall Street Journal has hired Sean O’Kane as a reporter covering Tesla and autonomous vehicles, bringing an experienced transportation technology journalist to its newsroom.
O’Kane, currently a senior reporter at TechCrunch, is expected to begin his new role in two weeks.
He has spent approximately a decade covering the transportation industry’s evolving business and technology landscape, with a particular focus on electric vehicles, Tesla and startups competing with Elon Musk‘s companies.
At TechCrunch, O’Kane has reported on developments in the automotive and mobility sectors, including emerging transportation technologies and the companies developing them.
Earlier in his career, he was a reporter at The Verge, covering transportation and consumer technology.
