Unitree founder and chairman Wang Xingxing said Nov. 6 at the eighth Zhejiang entrepreneurs conference in Hangzhou that security could be a promising next application for robots, pointing to strong overseas demand for intelligent security robots.
Unitree (unitree.com) is a robotics company in Hangzhou.
Wang showed video of Unitree robots in security and emergency scenarios, including restraining a simulated attacker, stopping a vehicle that tried to force its way through, and emergency rescue.
Unitree has not announced a dedicated security product, customers or field deployments tied to the remarks.
Much of the speech emphasized practical work: factory tasks, emergency response and security scenarios.
