SUPERIOR, Wis. (KQDS-TV)- For anyone interested in a career with computer science or cybersecurity, University of Wisconsin Superior is unveiling an exciting opportunity.

As of this year, students can now get their computer science degree with a concentration in cybersecurity.

The goal of this new option is to help prepare students for careers in cybersecurity with a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals.

One staff member said that he hopes this option will help with the high demand the field is currently facing.

"There's all sorts of different careers you could go into involving cybersecurity. A lot of them are housed under the IT world, so information technology, but there's positions such as cybersecurity analyst," explained Dr. Jonathan Totushek, Chair of the math and science department.

Both new and current students have the option to apply for this opportunity right now.

And it officially launches for the fall 2026 semester.
