Vehicle connected to missing person found in Leawood pond

LEAWOOD, Kan. — A vehicle was found at the bottom of a retention pond in Leawood on Saturday morning.

A volunteer dive team found the car at the bottom of the pond, located in the 14700 block of Norwood.

Using a GIS satellite image, the team deployed sonar equipment to search the pond.

A tow truck, along with the help of the Overland Park Police Department's dive team, were able to remove the car from the pond.
