Waymo and Lyft collaborating to bring driverless car maintenance facility to Nashville
Waymo’s launch in Nashville has elicited mixed reactions from residents.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Waymo is expanding in Nashville just a week after it started offering people rides in its driverless vehicles.
The company says it is working with Lyft on an autonomous vehicle facility called Flex Drive. The 80,000 square foot facility will be a place where the vehicles will come in for maintenance, like repairs and charging up the vehicle itself.
The new facility is expected to bring more than 70 full-time jobs to Nashville. It’s set to open this fall, according to a press release.
It follows a launch that prompted mixed reactions from Nashvillians, with some expressing excitement for the innovation and others expressing safety concerns. Read the full story here.
