The Jaguars are imported from a plant in Austria and outfitted with Waymo’s self-driving tech in Arizona.

While the bulk of those sales were in China, Zeekr has recently eyed expansion into new markets like Europe and Latin America.

A Waymo spokesperson said the company “strongly supports the Department of Commerce’s BIS connected vehicle rule and legislative efforts to address the national security concerns about foreign connected vehicle technology.”

“For any base vehicle Waymo uses, Waymo actively takes steps to ensure that they are in compliance with the government’s connected vehicle rules,” the Waymo spokesperson said in a statement.

“Additionally, Waymo does not share personally identifiable information about Waymo riders, Waymo vehicle telemetry data, or data collected through Waymo’s automated driving system with vehicle manufacturers.”
