Stellantis has partnered with Wayve to enhance the self driving technology for its future models. Wayve's AI Driver system will be integrated into the Stellantis Autodrive platform, enabling supervised hands-free driving. The Level 2++ system enables drivers to remove their hands from the steering wheel at motorway speeds, like the Ford BlueCruise system. “At Stellantis, we focus on technology that fundamentally transforms how our customers interact with their vehicles,” said Ned Curic, chief engineering and technology officer. “Combining our STLA AutoDrive platform with Wayve’s groundbreaking AI-first approach creates a genuinely intuitive and enjoyable hands-free driving experience. This collaboration is a testament to how the right partnerships allow us to scale advanced technology globally while anchoring customer safety and experience at the centre.” STLA AutoDrive provides a common, scalable foundation for deploying advanced driving assistance across Stellantis’ portfolio of brands. The system will be rolled out in North America first, with other regions set to follow. Wayve’s AI technology, integrated into STLA AutoDrive platform, is designed to deliver human-like driving behaviour that can continuously improve through learning from real world experience. This technology supports safer, more natural and more intuitive driving assistance, aligned with how customers actually drive and move through their daily environments. Wayve and Uber have plans to scale the robotaxi service to more than 10 markets globally and launch their first service in London this year, with a broader international rollout to follow. Under the partnership, Wayve will deploy its AI Driver in L4-capable vehicles from participating automakers, while Uber will own and operate the fleet, creating a scalable model for autonomous ride-hailing using mass-produced vehicles.
