What is the legal liability for autonomous cars?

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Self-driving cars are no longer a science experiment in Las Vegas.

Zoox already runs driverless rides around the resort corridor, Waymo is expected to launch this summer, and Tesla has Nevada DMV approval to begin testing.

These systems aren't perfect, however.

Last December, hundreds of Waymo vehicles stalled at a San Francisco intersection during a power outage, and police officers had to physically move the cars.

In Las Vegas, one Zoox vehicle got stuck in an intersection near Treasure Island.

If one of these cars were to be involved in a crash and injure someone, who is legally responsible?
