The work is part of the Las Virgenes-Malibu Council of Governments' Regional Smart Cities Fiber Network, a more than 38-mile network spanning Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu and Westlake Village.
In Malibu, crews are expected to install underground fiber from October through December, connecting Malibu City Hall and linking traffic signals along Civic Center Way.
Work areas will include portions of Malibu Canyon Road, Webb Way/Stuart Ranch Road and Civic Center Way between Malibu Canyon Road and Stuart Ranch Road.
Construction along Malibu Canyon Road in unincorporated Los Angeles County is expected to continue through March 2027.
Construction in Agoura Hills, Westlake Village and Hidden Hills is nearly complete, while work in Calabasas is underway, officials said.
