The World Bank Group Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC), in partnership with the City of Yokohama, will host a session titled "Resource Circulation Systems and Finance in Asia-Pacific Cities" at the Asia-Pacific Circular Cities Forum (APCC) 2026 in Yokohama on September 4, 2026. TDLC has collaborated with Yokohama City, one of its City Partnership Program (CPP) cities, through the Asian Smart City Conference (ASCC) for many years and is pleased to continue this partnership as the conference enters a new chapter as APCC. The conference brings together city leaders, development partners, private sector representatives, and experts from across the region to address circularity challenges such as resource efficiency and waste management challenges. As cities across Asia and the Pacific seek to improve waste management and resource efficiency, financing remains a critical challenge. This session will bring together representatives from international financial institutions, local governments, and the private sector to discuss how cities can develop bankable Waste-to-Energy projects, mobilize investment, and build effective partnerships to advance sustainable urban infrastructure.
