Xcanbot's Mate X, a seated mobility robot, won the Tech for Good & Accessibility category at the IFA Innovation Awards 2026 in Berlin. The robot also received Honoree status in IFA NEXT & Emerging Tech.
The Mate X autonomously navigates to chosen destinations using 12 sensors including LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonics that provide 360-degree awareness. It features an electric seat lift that raises riders up to 18cm and offers a range of up to 30km on a 453.6 Wh LFP battery.
Shenzhen-based Xcanbot designed the device as consumer technology rather than clinical equipment. The robot processes navigation data on-device without uploading information.
The Mate X will exhibit at REHACARE International 2026 in Düsseldorf from 23-26 September, targeting European distributors. A crowdfunding campaign is planned, with Europe as the first market.
