Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 6th that it is partnering with Iconix Entertainment to launch new in-car display themes that let customers decorate their vehicles with Pororo the Little Penguin, Tayo the Little Bus, and Zanmang Loopy. This is the first time Hyundai Motor Company has collaborated with homegrown characters to release display themes for its vehicles. In February, the company introduced two Pokémon display themes, and it is now expanding the lineup using domestic character intellectual property rights. The strategy is to broaden in-car content options for family customers and those who are enthusiastic about character-themed experiences. The new display themes are "Pororo: Joyful Train Trip," "Tayo Colorful Garage," and "Mischievous Loopy Original." Once applied, these themes integrate the characters across the infotainment system, including start-up and shutdown animations, the instrument cluster, and navigation, transforming the in-car experience. Customers can purchase the themes by registering their primary vehicle in the myHyundai application and completing payment. The themes are available for the Hyundai Ioniq 9, The all-new NEXO, The new IONIQ 6, and Hyundai Sonata The Edge. Hyundai Motor Company plans to gradually expand availability to all models equipped with the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), including a 12.3-inch cluster and 12.3-inch navigation. A Hyundai Motor Company representative said, "We hope the Pororo the Little Penguin, Tayo the Little Bus, and Zanmang Loopy display themes create fond memories for families using Hyundai vehicles," adding, "We will continue to develop new products that enhance the value of the in-car experience." Modern vehicles are more connected than ever before, but that convenience comes with a growing cybersecurity risk. With cars now functioning much like smartphones on wheels, experts say it’s only a matter of time before cyber criminals turn greater attention to the automotive world. Over the past decade, vehicles have rapidly evolved into highly digitised machines, often equipped with built-in internet connectivity, smartphone integration and over-the-air software updates. While these features enhance usability, they also introduce new vulnerabilities. As one industry expert explains, cars today are effectively “internet devices” – and that makes them potential targets. The risks aren’t purely theoretical. Early research demonstrated that hackers could remotely access a vehicle’s electronic systems, even interfering with critical functions such as braking or engine operation. While real-world incidents remain rare, the potential consequences have driven tighter global regulations, including mandatory cybersecurity standards for new vehicles introduced in recent years. A real-world example of how disruptive cyber attacks can be came with the ransomware hit on Jaguar Land Rover. The attack crippled the company’s IT systems, forcing a shutdown of production lines and delaying vehicle deliveries for weeks. Customers were left waiting longer for new cars, while servicing and parts supply were also impacted. The incident showed that even when vehicles themselves aren’t directly hacked, the wider automotive ecosystem – from manufacturing to aftersales – can be severely affected. AutoExpress recently visited Hyundai Motor Group’s advanced technology facility in Frankfurt, Germany, where cybersecurity is treated as a core part of vehicle development. The site houses a dedicated laboratory focused on testing and strengthening digital defences across Hyundai, Kia and Genesis models. The facility also plays a key role in developing over-the-air software updates, which allow manufacturers to fix vulnerabilities remotely. Hyundai engineers liken the current state of automotive cybersecurity to the early

How rising car prices present one more hurdle for homebuyers Car prices keep soaring – the average price of a new vehicle topped $50,000 for the first time last year, and the share of Americans taking on $1,000 monthly car payments passed 1 in 5, also a record. If you’re considering a new car loan while also hoping to buy a home, you might want to think again: A hefty car payment can hinder your ability to qualify for a mortgage. “Higher car payments eat directly into the residual income available for a mortgage payment,” says Anthony O. Kellum, CEO of Kellum Mortgage in Roseville, Michigan. Ever-rising car payments are just part of the affordability squeeze that has gripped the U.S. housing market since the pandemic. Home prices have soared to record levels, and the typical age of first-time buyers has risen to 40, a record. “You never know which straw will break the camel’s back,” says Robert Brusca, chief economist at FAO Economics. “But it’s all in the mix – high car payments, high house prices, higher mortgage rates, high student debt levels.” In other words, it’s not an easy environment in which to buy a home. Saddling yourself with a hefty car payment ahead of applying for a mortgage could make your process even more difficult. ‘It feels overwhelming’ The average price of a new car topped $50,000 for the first time in September , according to Kelley Blue Book, driven by better quality, longer-lasting cars as well as the popularity of electric vehicles. According to Edmunds, the average new car payment for loans originated in the fourth quarter of 2025 was $772. And the share of new-car buyers committing to monthly payments of $1,000 or more reached a record high of 20.3%, up from 18.9% a year

The 2027 Gravity lineup simplifies its packaging, bundles more technology as standard equipment, and introduces a top-tier Prestige Package — as the electric S.U.V. maker looks to broaden its foothold in the luxury market. Since delivering its first Air sedan in late 2021, the California-based electric vehicle maker has positioned itself as a luxury alternative to Tesla, one that could rival the refinement of a German automaker while beating virtually everyone on driving range. Now, with the Gravity sport utility vehicle gaining traction in showrooms, Lucid is betting that a more thoughtful product strategy can turn early promise into sustained momentum. On Wednesday, the company unveiled the 2027 Gravity lineup, announcing a round of updates that it said would make the vehicle easier to buy, better equipped from the start, and more customizable at the top end. The changes touch every trim level and introduce a new Prestige Package for the range-topping Grand Touring — a bundle aimed squarely at buyers who want everything Lucid can offer in a single transaction. The entry-level Gravity Touring, starting at $79,900, will now come standard with DreamDrive 2 Premium, the company’s more capable suite of driver-assistance features, along with an additional key fob. Both had previously been optional. The Grand Touring, priced from $98,900, gains even more standard content — including a Comfort and Convenience Package, a Power Package, and larger 21-inch and 22-inch wheels — narrowing the gap between what a buyer gets at base and what they might have once had to specify separately. “With the 2027 updates, we’ve expanded standard features, simplified choices, and introduced a new Prestige Package that showcases the very best of Lucid design and technology,” said Erwin Raphael, Lucid’s senior vice president of revenue. “These enhancements reflect our continued focus on delivering compelling products as Gravity

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift is set for a 9 April, 2026 unveil. In a recent teaser, the carmaker subtly showcased its changed elements, with one of them being a connected light bar and an illuminated logo at the front, and this is in line with what we exclusively rendered and expected.
Up front, the light bar is connected by a continuous LED strip, unlike the Skoda Kushaq's segmented unit. The rear connected tail-light setup continues, but it is a more imposing and aggressive C shape at both ends. Feature-wise, we expect the new Taigun to get a rear-seat massage function, better UI for the infotainment, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Mechanically, the Taigun facelift will remain unchanged, continuing with the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol units, with the former rated to churn out 114bhp/178Nm via a new eight-speed automatic (replacing the six-speed automatic) or a six-speed manual gearbox , and the latter churning out 148bhp/250Nm via a 7DSG system. This is in line with what the Skoda Kushaq facelift gets.

Based on key financial metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio, shareholder yield and the price-earnings ratio, the following 3 stocks made the list for top value stocks in the Automobile Components industry. Those looking for value stocks to add to their portfolio may want to use this list as a starting point for further investment research. Why Focus on Undervalued Automobile Components Stocks? Value investors seek to buy stocks at a discount to their intrinsic value. Long-term returns show that such strategies are advantageous. Value stocks, as a group, tend to outperform growth stocks over extended periods of time. Typically, value investors perform financial analysis of numerous metrics, don’t follow the herd and are long-term investors. AAII’s A+ Investor Value Grade is derived from a stock’s Value Score. The Value Score is the percentile rank of the average of the percentile ranks of the price-to-sales ratio, price-earnings ratio, enterprise-value-to-EBITDA (EV/EBITDA) ratio, shareholder yield, price-to-book-value ratio and price-to-free-cash-flow ratio. The score is variable, meaning it can consider all six ratios or, should any of the six ratios not be valid, the remaining ratios that are valid. To be assigned a Value Score, stocks must have a valid (non-null) ratio and corresponding ranking for at least two of the six valuation ratios. What Goes Into AAII’s Value Grade? Stock evaluation requires access to huge amounts of data as well as the knowledge and time to sift through it all, make sense of financial ratios, read income statements and analyze recent stock movement. AAII created A+ Investor, a robust data suite that condenses data research in an actionable and customizable way suitable for investors of all knowledge levels, to help investors with that task. AAII’s proprietary stock grades come with A+ Investor. These offer intuitive A–F grades for more than just value. It

Android Auto is essential if you want to access your phone from your car's infotainment system without ever having to glance at the screen. But as convenient as it is, all those notifications that keep popping up while you're driving are more than a little annoying—they can also be a dangerous distraction. While Android Auto has a built-in option to turn off message notifications, it's not perfect if you still want alerts from specific apps or people. Fortunately, there's a more advanced way to customize these notifications while driving—but the catch is that the option isn't inside Android Auto itself. This setting turns on Do Not Disturb when your phone connects to your car If you hate getting notifications while driving, this is the option to enable One of the biggest annoyances I've had since I started using Android Auto is all the notifications I keep getting while I'm driving. While I don’t mind being notified if one of my parents is calling or messaging me, I don’t really appreciate the distraction caused by my friend's back-to-back Discord messages appearing on my car's screen. By default, Android Auto lets you turn message notifications on and off, and you can even silence group chats, but it still lacks the more refined settings that many of us crave. Thankfully, most newer Android phones have a special Driving mode that you can enable in the phone's settings. It's separate from Android Auto, but it integrates really well because it turns on when your phone recognizes that it's connected to an Android Auto display. I wish Android Auto had these 4 CarPlay features CarPlay is still the best way to use your phone in the car. The exact way this option behaves varies between phone brands. On my OnePlus 15, the option just enables

Inside Jaguar's DNA: How the greatest ever Jags helped build the new GT We take the chance to drive new GT alongside its iconic forebears, to see if the brand’s lineage remains intact Jaguar’s ‘Copy Nothing’ strapline and associated ad campaign marked a new era for the brand – just before the covers came off the Type 00 concept in late 2024. It’s a mantra that will apparently inform everything the company creates over the next few years, as it looks to reposition itself as a luxury car maker “bigger than Bentley” in terms of outright sales volume. You might ask therefore – as indeed, we did – why we’re sitting in an early E-Type, preparing to drive a still-camouflaged version of Jaguar’s new four-door electric GT; if this EV is a copy of nothing, why front the firm’s most iconic reference points from its illustrious 90-year history, alongside senior executives from engineering, brand and design? “It’s OK to copy yourself, isn’t it?” remarks JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture) chief engineer, Jon Darlington. “Instead of benchmarking stuff already out there, we went and drove cars from our back catalogue. It wasn’t about taking measures. It was about a feeling: what do you see, what do you feel? The process you are going to go through – driving these cars – is the process we went through.” Even without peeling back the layers of black and white disguise, there’s no missing the long bonnet and swept-back shape of the new GT – not dissimilar to the stunning E-Type that’s been brought out for us to try. “The team [at Jaguar] really understands good proportions,” Jaguar’s production design director, Andy Wheel, tells us. “That distance – from the front wheel to the A-post – that is something that instantly brings back all those

This collaboration brings together One Inc’s ClaimsPay and PremiumPay network, which enables insurance-native digital payments, and ManageMy’s platform for insurance carriers, which enables digital experiences across sales, service and claims, the companies said in a Thursday (April 2) press release. This combination will allow carriers using the ManageMy platform to connect directly into One Inc’s network, facilitating digital payments, according to the release. With these capabilities, carriers can accept premiums and disburse claims through digital wallets, instant payments, virtual cards and instant funds transfers, per the release. Because One Inc’s platform is purpose-built for the insurance industry, it can handle multi-party transactions such as lienholder and mortgagee payments, the release said. The PYMNTS Intelligence and Ingo Payments collaboration “The Demand for Instant Insurance: Why Speed Is the New Trust” found that in the insurance industry, payout speed now defines trust, loyalty and leadership. Long-time Android users know that there is a hidden set of developer settings where you can customize aspects of your phone not intended for the wider public. Turns out the same is true about Android Auto—sort of. Just like with your Android phone, there is a hidden page with car-related options that aren’t intended for the general populace, but it's not as deep nor nearly as good. How to enable Android Auto's hidden developer menu Before you do, temper your expectations You won’t find the Android Auto developer menu by hunting around on the screen in your car. Instead, pull out your phone and open Android Auto settings there. On a Samsung device, you can do this by going to Settings > Connected Devices > Android Auto. On the Google Pixel 10a I have on hand, you would instead go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Android Auto. Here is where the cool trick comes in (and stop me if this sounds familiar). Scroll down until you see Version and then tap this ten times, at which point you will receive a prompt letting you know that Developer Mode has been enabled. Tap the overflow menu icon in the top right, and you will now see developer options. Android Auto's developer menu isn't nearly as exciting as a developer menu for your Android phone. Most of the options you've just unlocked aren't going to fundamentally change what you can do with your car, but there are a few minor conveniences I’d like to highlight. This is the easiest way to share Android Auto screenshots You can record video and audio as well I'll admit most people do not need to regularly take screenshots like I do, given that it's a key part of my job description. That

Two families from Mexico showed up at an Electrify America site in San Ysidro expecting a routine charge and got a five-hour ordeal instead. According to a Reddit post from a local BMW i3 driver, the tourists were in rental Hyundai Ioniq 5s, couldn’t download the Electrify America app because their phones were tied to the Mexican app store, and couldn’t fall back on card payment because the readers at the chargers weren’t working. This is a system failure stacked three high: the app wouldn’t let them in, the chargers wouldn’t take payment, and the rental cars arrived with too little battery to give the drivers any margin for error. “I am absolutely flabbergasted by what I just witnessed at my local Electrify America station in San Ysidro,” the Reddit user wrote. “I just wanted a quick weekend top-off for my i3s, but I ended up running a one-man rescue mission.” It’s a vivid quote, but the important part is what it reveals. Public charging still breaks down for the very people the industry says it wants most: first-time EV users, tourists, and renters. Start with the app problem. “If your phone is set to Mexico, you literally cannot get the app to start a session,” the witness wrote. That may sound like an edge case until you remember where San Ysidro is and who uses rental cars there. Border traffic isn’t a surprise. International travelers are not a rounding error. If a public charger effectively assumes a domestic app-store account, it is not built for the public. Then the backup system failed too. “Every single card terminal on these units was dead,” the same user wrote. “Tap to pay didn’t work, and swiping was a no-go.” That sentence should make charging-network operators sweat. A public charger does not get

Is car hacking real? Risks, vulnerabilities and expert cyber security tips Last year's cyber attack on JLR may suggest hackers are only interested in large corporations, but we all need to be aware of the threats we face Could your car be hacked? In 2025, 612,000 UK businesses were the victims of cyber breaches and attacks, and given the way vehicles these days are digitised and interconnected almost to a fault, it’s perhaps only a matter of time until criminals turn their attention to cars. “Cybersecurity in automotive has been around for quite a while in some form or another,” explains Paul Wooderson, chief cybersecurity engineer at Horiba MIRA – one of the leading firms in the development and testing of defences against cyber attacks. “But in the last 10 years it’s become more mainstream as vehicles have become more connected.” Today, almost every new vehicle is connected to the internet. While some rely on embedded 4G and 5G modems to wirelessly receive data for their sat-navs, others will allow you to browse the web, watch YouTube via their infotainment systems, or unlock them via a smartphone app. Estimates from Statista in 2023 suggested that the UK is home to more than 19 million connected cars. The figure has certainly grown exponentially since then, with each generation of new models introducing, and relying on, more and more connected services. The phrase “laptops on wheels” perhaps never rang truer. What are the real car hacking risks? This opens up drivers to a raft of threats. A study devised in 2010 by researchers from the University of Washington and the University of California San Diego was one of the first to show how little protection cars once had against cyber manipulation. Experts were able to remotely control and exploit a car’s electrical

It used to take large teams and years to build a billion-dollar company. Now just one AI-savvy founder can scale it solo. Matthew Gallagher launched Medvi, a GLP-1 telehealth startup, out of his Los Angeles home in September 2024 with just $20,000, no employees, and more than a dozen artificial intelligence tools. Medvi posted $401 million in sales in its first full year, amassed 250,000 customers, and produced a 16.2% net profit margin, according to a Thursday (April 2) report in The New York Times. The company is now tracking toward $1.8 billion in 2026 revenue. For context, Hims and Hers reported $2.4 billion in revenue last year with 2,442 employees and a net profit margin of 5.5%. Gallagher is running nearly three times that margin at Medvi with a headcount of two, after bringing on his brother Elliot as the company’s only hire. The story backs a prediction long discussed in the tech space. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman told Reddit Co-founder Alexis Ohanian in early 2024 that he and his tech CEO peers maintained a betting pool for the year the first one-person billion-dollar company would emerge, calling it something that “would have been unimaginable without AI and now will happen.” AI as Operating System According to the NYT, Gallagher used AI to write platform code, produce website copy, generate images and videos for ads, and handle customer service, while also building AI systems to monitor business performance in real time. (TestMiles) – Jaguar’s most controversial reset in decades is starting to make sense. After a year of headlines, criticism, and curiosity, the British automaker has finally put something tangible on the road. The Jaguar Type 00 is not just another electric vehicle. It is the first real proof point of what Jaguar plans to become. And after driving it at Jaguar’s engineering headquarters in Gaydon, England, one thing is clear. This is not a brand walking away from its past. It is a brand rediscovering it. A High-Risk Strategy Comes Into Focus The Jaguar Type 00 arrives at a critical moment for the company. Jaguar paused production, repositioned itself as an all-electric luxury brand, and launched a campaign that generated nearly a billion global views. That level of exposure brought attention, but it also brought skepticism. The core question was simple: could Jaguar reinvent itself without losing its identity? The Type 00 is the first real answer to that question, and it is a far more convincing one than many expected. Development Rooted in Jaguar’s History What makes the story more compelling is how Jaguar chose to develop the car. Rather than starting with a clean sheet and building forward, engineers began by looking backward. They revisited the cars that defined the brand, including the E-Type, the XJ, the XJ Coupe V12, the XJS, and the XK120. The goal was not nostalgia. It was understanding. What exactly made a Jaguar feel like a Jaguar? The answer came down to a balance that is surprisingly difficult to achieve. Performance and comfort work together, not competing. That principle now sits at the center of the Jaguar Type 00, and it defines the experience from the moment you start driving. Performance Numbers Tell Only Part of the Story On paper, the specifications are
