Colton Herta's work with Cadillac is set to step up a gear in the following weeks, with the American due to make his F1 race weekend debut at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. Earlier in April it was confirmed that Herta would get his first run out in a competitive session during in the opening practice session of the Barcelona weekend, an opportunity he concedes is not without pressure. Currently competing in F2 with Hitech, with the support series also due to race in Miami in what will be the first North American outing for the championship, Herta knows there's a great deal of expectation in terms of proving himself. After all, the former IndyCar racer has been open about pushing to make it to F1 in the future. “You want to be fast in any car you drive, and this isn't going to be any different, so it's going to be taken very seriously on my part," he says. “But I think the biggest goal is they [Cadillac] need to see value in me doing it. The team needs to see value, and they need to come out of it positively. It can't all just be about me and how fast I want to go.” Preparing in the simulator with Cadillac Preparations for the first confirmed FP1 session of four in total will begin in earnest ‘soon’ according to the Cadillac Test Driver. While he has been hard at work with Hitech in F2, the last time he drove the F1 team’s simulator was before pre-season testing. A lot has chanced since then, and with Herta having spent some time away from the F1 set up, he is eager to get stuck in once again with early season learnings taken into account. “I think the sim programme is going to

The Race team’s favourite motorsport movies Ever wondered what a room full of motorsport journalists would name as their favourite motorsport film? Well, wonder no more! We asked the team to let us know their favourite motorsport and why they hold them so high in their expert opinions. Some picked films that show exciting racing action, while others chose ones that focus more on the people and stories behind the sport. Together, their choices give a good mix of what makes motorsport films enjoyable - a glimpse into the sport we all love. Kart Racer (2003) Scott Mitchell-Malm I have been suspicious of racing movies since I was a 12-year-old karter and wannabe racer, and watched 2003's Kart Racer. I remember my absolute glee that karting was being featured in a film. But I also remember being so disappointed in how parts of it were depicted. I'm pretty sure it was the first time I was exposed to the plot device of 'you can just go quicker by pushing the throttle a little bit more'... It taught me that racing on the big screen seems to be really, really hard to get right. But more than anything now, I remember the basic underlying plot: teenage racing enthusiast who finds the world hard to engage with and has a sometimes tricky relationship with his dad, bonds with his dad building a shitbox of a kart together. That hit home for me, and still does, as karting was how I bonded with my dad, and where we had my best childhood moments. So when I think of this film, I think of a slightly silly movie that contains some tough details to stomach, but mainly has a bit of heart that pulls me into a core memory. I've not watched this for

The racing genre has gotten plenty of permutations over the years, from the bombastic kart racing of the Mario Kart franchise to the more grounded realism of the Gran Turismo series. Both properties have had an undeniable impact on the broader gaming industry, with plenty of titles trying to replicate the success of both. The thing is, even a quarter of a century later, no one — not even the Gran Turismo developers — has been able to catch up to their biggest runaway success. Videos by ComicBook.com Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec brought the realistic racing sim series to the PlayStation 2, quickly becoming a best seller and critical darling. Still regularly considered among the best racing games of all time, the title also came to represent something more about the PlayStation 2 as a whole. 25 years since it first debuted on the global stage, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec is still one of the best racing games we’ve ever gotten. How Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec Took Over The World Debuting in Japan on April 28, 2001, before making its way to the rest of the world that summer, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec remains one of the gaming industry’s most successful racing titles ever. The Gran Turismo series had debuted a few years earlier, quickly earning acclaim across the industry for its tight design, strong graphics, and commitment to accurately recreating the driving experience. The first two games in the series were well received, with the debut entry still being the top-rated game in the series on Metacritic with a 96/100 cumulative score. Trailing just behind that game in terms of review scores is its more famous cousin, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec, which earned similarly terrific reviews when it debuted on the PS2 in 2001 and sits just 1 point

2026 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Qualifying Series | Race Preview | Round 11: Sim Racing Expo 150 at Texas April 28th, 2026 by Justin Melillo One last challenge remains in the inaugural eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Qualifying Series season. The 11-race schedule comes down to 100 laps at Texas Motor Speedway, in the Sim Racing Expo 150, where the top-30 will be eligible for a chance at entering eNASCAR Free Agency in a few weeks time. Some drivers are finally at a point where they can breathe again as they have mathematically clinched a place in the top-30. Others near the cut line will need to either hang on or clutch up to be above that line by the checkers. In the new eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season as a whole, the total schedule expands to a 24-races The first 11 races have been a part of the newly reconfigured eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Qualifying Series, competing from February to April. The remaining 13 races will be in the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series, which starts in May, that part of the schedule previously being the entirety of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series. 22 iRacing members are already locked into the Free Agency round before the Championship Series begins in May. 30 more drivers will be added to that Free Agency pool by finishing within the top-30 in the final standings by the Qualifying Series section’s end. Any iRacing member with a Class A license can take on the Qualifying Series, and splits and the Strength of Field (SoF) will be determined by each entered member’s iRating. Points will be awarded throughout each split based on the SoF. With the season-long standings concluding, while the focus will be on Top Split, there will be eyes across other splits to tune in to other

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec turns 25 years old today. First released in Japan on April 28, 2001, the PlayStation 2’s debut Gran Turismo title remains one of the best-selling games in the franchise’s history, and arguably one of the most important. It’s the game that took Gran Turismo from “huge PlayStation success story” to global phenomenon. The numbers tell that part of the story plainly enough: just under 15 million copies sold worldwide, with 7.1 million in the US alone. GT3 held the title of best-selling Gran Turismo for over two decades, and was a major contributor to the franchise’s recently-passed 100 million career sales milestone. But sales alone don’t explain why so many people still frequently rank it as the best Gran Turismo a quarter of a century later. Gran Turismo 2000 Gran Turismo 3 began life as “Gran Turismo 2000“, a PlayStation 2 launch-title project that was shown at E3 2000 under that working title, and a public demo disc version appeared in Japan at PlayStation Festival that year. The 2000 launch slipped, the title changed, and what eventually shipped on April 28, 2001 was a different beast entirely. GT3 was a smaller game than Gran Turismo 2, in the most literal sense. GT2 had carried more than 600 cars; GT3 shipped with under 200. GT3’s car roster was smaller because the series moved from PS1 to PS2 and used far more detailed car models. As a result, many GT2-era cars and niche marques did not carry over to GT3, and some never returned. In exchange, players got the largest visual leap in the series’ history. Gran Turismo 3 used the PS2’s Emotion Engine to deliver much more detailed cars, real-time reflections, richer environmental effects, and replays that looked strikingly like a TV broadcast. The Firsts Even with

On Saturday evening, 20 horses will line up at the Churchill Downs starting gates for the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby. But you don't have to wait until Saturday to see how the race might play out. I built a race simulator using my own power rankings and Monte Carlo simulation to help you handicap the field, identify edges against the morning line, and watch the chaos of a 20-horse race unfold one simulated run at a time. Each time you hit "New Sim", the tool will generate one of 10,000 random simulations of the Kentucky Derby, and hopefully, those simulations and the accompanying data will help you to make your race selections. Below, you will find my 2026 Kentucky Derby simulator, a table of my fair odds and projected finishing odds for each horse (which powers the simulator), and notes on what the methodology includes and excludes. Post time is Saturday at 6:57 p.m. ET. Until then, try your luck against the simulator. Kentucky Derby Simulator Projected Odds About the Model Each horse has a base ability score combining Beyer Speed Figures (best + average), TimeformUS pace fingerprint, class, distance/surface fit, trainer quality, form trend, workout sharpness, and jockey-trainer combinations; plus an Early Pace tactical-speed bonus (the Derby's preferred profile historically) and a per-horse trip bonus that captures the actual pace setup (e.g., clean rail pocket for Renegade, all-speed-inside for Further Ado, sandwiched in a pace duel for Pavlovian). For each of the 10,000 sims, the model samples a pace shape (75% fast / 22% honest / 3% slow, as three confirmed senders make a slow pace nearly impossible), adds day-of variance by factoring for trip events (e.g., bad starting break, wide trip for outside posts, used-up clearing for outside speed on fast pace, boxed-in for inside stalkers).
