If Dreamworld and Movie World aren’t your speed and you’d prefer to be in control, Clutch Racing is now under construction, promising to be the biggest sim racing facility in the country when it opens. Plans for its development were lodged last year, with reports at the time claiming it would include a 24-hour bar which would serve food and drinks. While the bar portion hasn’t been confirmed in the latest update, the location of Clutch Racing has been locked in, with the facility to be a part of the upcoming ‘Foxwell Coomera’ project, across the road from Westfield Coomera. “Simulation racing is already huge in both Europe and the US, and there is a massive opportunity here in Australia as it continues to gain international notoriety and a local fanbase,” said Clutch Racing co-founder, Matt Smith. “On top of that, the technology in the simulation space is rapidly advancing, so it’s an exciting time to be entering the market and delivering the largest offering of its kind in Australia. “Most existing simulation racing venues focus either on competition or entertainment, but we are blending the thrill of elite racing with the social energy of a great night out, extending the experience beyond the drivers’ seat. “The space and technology will be world-class to meet the expectations of serious drivers, but welcoming enough that someone can walk in, order some food and a drink, and have an incredible experience. “This pocket of the northern Gold Coast is one of Queensland’s fastest-growing regions, and Foxwell Coomera’s position across from Westfield Coomera makes it a strong launchpad for our brand.” According to Foxwell Coomera, Clutch Racing will feature 24 ‘state-of-the-art racing simulators’, more than any other facility in Australia. Polyphony Digital has announced the first Manufacturers Cup Exhibition Season of 2026, getting underway this weekend ahead of the official championship later in the year. At six rounds and running through to June 7, it’s a substantially longer event than the short four-round sprints that became the norm through much of 2025, matching the length of last year’s third Exhibition Season. Gr.4 cars appear in two of the six rounds, which has real consequences for which manufacturers are worth picking. The Schedule The full six-round calendar is as follows: - Round 1 – April 25/26 – Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP (No Chicane)/Gr.3 – 18 laps - Round 2 – May 2/3 – Fuji International Speedway (Short)/Gr.4 – 10 laps - Round 3 – May 9/10 – Dragon Trail – Gardens/Gr.3 – 20 laps - Round 4 – May 16/17 – Sardegna – Road Track A/Gr.3 – 15 laps - Round 5 – May 30/31 – Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit/Gr.4 – 13 laps - Round 6 – June 6/7 – Nürburgring Endurance/Gr.3 – 5 laps Rounds 1 through 4 follow the alternating Friday/Saturday format at roughly weekly intervals, before a two-week gap opens up ahead of Round 5. The finale at the Nürburgring follows a week later. What to Watch The two Gr.4 rounds are the headline consideration for manufacturer selection. Round 2 at Fuji Short is a straightforward Gr.4 sprint, with no mandatory tire or pit requirement. Round 5 at Mount Panorama is a Gr.4 race with a mandatory pit stop and a 4x tire wear rate in qualifying, requiring a pit stop strategy on top of car selection. Round 3 at Dragon Trail – Gardens and Round 4 at Sardegna both carry elevated tire wear, at 5x and 4x respectively in both qualifying and the race. Round 4

Norris wins Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award after 2025 F1 title win Lando Norris was recognised for his maiden F1 title triumph at the 2026 Laureus World Sports Awards. Lando Norris has added another trophy to his growing cabinet after winning the World Breakthrough of the Year prize at the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards – the 2026 edition being held in Madrid on Monday night. It comes just a few months after the 26-year-old McLaren driver became F1 World Champion for the first time – denying Red Bull rival Max Verstappen by two points after scoring the podium finish he needed at the Abu Dhabi finale. Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series returns, over $500,000 in prizes available April 21st, 2026 by Press Release Skip Barber Racing School is proud to announce the return of the Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series for the 2026 season. With more than $500,000 in combined prizes on the line, the series continues Skip Barber’s mission of bridging the gap between sim racing and real-world motorsports. Competitors will chase the ultimate prize: a fully funded seat in the 2027 Skip Barber Formula Race Series. The competition spans six rounds across a calendar of circuits drawn from the 2026 Skip Barber Race Series schedule. Those tracks include Lime Rock Park, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, VIRginia International Raceway, Sonoma Raceway, Richmond, and Circuit of The Americas. Each round opens with a Hot Lap Qualifier held Friday through Sunday, with the top 20 qualifiers from each week advancing to the championship race. Points accumulate across the season, with the top three in the overall standings earning an invitation to the Skip Barber Formula Car Shootout at VIR where they will compete for the grand prize. The drivers who finish fourth and fifth in the championship standings will receive a One Day Racing School. Each week, the Hard Charger recipient will be awarded with a One Day Racing School. Plus, every entrant will receive a $200 Skip Barber Racing School credit. The 2026 season gets underway when Hot Lap qualifying opens on May 1 for Round 1 at Lime Rock Park, with the championship finale scheduled for July 16 at Circuit of The Americas. Entry is available on a per-event basis at $50 per week, or competitors can secure a Full Season Pass for $250, covering all six Hot Lap Qualifier events. The Full Season Pass is only available until the conclusion of the first week.
As we inch ever closer to the April 29th release date for MotoGP 26, developer Milestone has released a new deep dive trailer for the upcoming bike racing game. The trailer, which you can check out below, clocks in at seven and a half minutes in length and reveals details about the title’s focus on the 2026 racing season and its inclusion of rider ratings. All 38 teams will be available in the 2026 racing season as represented in MotoGP 26. This means that players will get to compete against more than 70 different riders. Rider ratings will play a key role in this, with their real-world performance being accurately captured in the game. These ratings will also see constant updates throughout the racing season. The general experience of race weekends has also seen massive upgrades thanks to new on-site sound recordings with which the studio aims to provide an “authentic” audio experience. On the presentation side of things, MotoGP 26 is aiming for realism by presenting just about every race menu as if it were being broadcast on TV. This ranges from the races themselves to various statistics screens and even management aspects. The trailer also goes into detail about the new physics-based control system, which gives players a greater sense of control over their bikes thanks to how realistically weights can shift around when, for example, taking a sharp turn at high speeds. Just about every action has been animated to focus on realism, be it maintaining a racing line on straight tracks or getting a leg ready to counter-balance for an incoming turn. Max Verstappen praised for ‘extraordinary’ move during NLS5 Nurburgring race Max Verstappen missed out on another win at the Nurburgring, but he still showed why so many people rate his skill behind the wheel. Returning to the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie for the fifth round, Verstappen was making his second appearance of the season after also racing in NLS2 back in March. Once again, he was driving for Winward Racing in a Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo. In that earlier race, Verstappen had crossed the line with a comfortable lead but was later disqualified because his team used an additional set of tyres. This time around, he looked set for another strong result until damage to his car derailed those hopes. Verstappen started alongside Lucas Auer and managed to work his way into first place. But that lead didn’t last long as he picked up damage and had to come into the pits for repairs. Auer later rejoined well down the order. By then, they were three laps off the pace and sitting 87th overall. Although they climbed back up to 39th by the end, any chance of a meaningful result had already slipped away despite what was another impressive showing from Verstappen until that point. A new week brings a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with three fresh events now live and running through next Monday. It’s a reasonably standard lineup of a one-make sprint, Gr.4 middle-distance, and Gr.3 finale, though Race C has enough tire wear to give it a proper strategic element. Race A puts the Nissan 180SX Type X ’96 around the short layout at Fuji Speedway on Sports Hard tires. It’s a four-lap, twelve-car sprint with car settings locked to Specified, so it’s a pure driver test with no setup work to do beforehand. Race B is Gr.4 around High Speed Ring for six laps on Racing Hards, with no mandatory stop and a BOP/Tuning restriction weighted toward top-end pace rather than cornering grip. Race C is the strategy race this week. Thirteen laps of the Red Bull Ring in Gr.3 with 2x fuel, 4x tire wear, and a single mandatory pit stop. Racing Softs are the only dry compound available, so there’s no compound decision to make, just the question of when to stop. At 4x wear those Softs will be well past their peak by the end of a long stint, and the Red Bull Ring’s heavy traction zones out of Turns 1 and 3 punish worn rubber more than most layouts.
