BMW Will Adapt Neue Klasse Tech For MINI And Rolls-Royce

Article Summary - The rebirth of Neue Klasse started with BMW and will continue with MINI and Rolls-Royce. - Neue Klasse will spread across both ICE and EV portfolios. - BMW aims to adapt the tech to better fit the other Group brands. With iX3 deliveries underway in Europe, Neue Klasse is officially back. The i3 arrives later this year, and these two models are just the tip of the iceberg. The 7 Series facelift debuting this month will be followed in the summer by the next-generation X5. All told, BMW will launch 40 new or updated models by the end of 2027. Neue Klasse won’t be exclusive to models carrying the roundel, though. In an interview with Automobilwoche, BMW’s R&D boss Joachim Post explained that the new technology will be rolled out to other Group brands. However, don’t expect MINI or Rolls-Royce to simply carry over the solutions found in BMW-badged models. Instead, the plan is to adapt these developments to better fit each brand. “We don’t develop technology just for one brand, but for our entire portfolio. From MINI to Rolls-Royce, all brands benefit from the advancements we’ve made with the Neue Klasse. Of course, a MINI has completely different characteristics than a Rolls-Royce. But our aim as a global manufacturer is always to leverage synergies across all our brands. This doesn’t mean we’ll simply transfer the Panoramic iDrive display and operating concept to Rolls-Royce, but there are opportunities for adaptation.” There has been some confusion about whether Neue Klasse is exclusively for electric vehicles. While components such as batteries and electric motors are inherently EV-specific, the iDrive X can also be installed in cars with combustion engines. The same applies to the new design language, which will be rolled out across the lineup regardless of powertrain. Although

Formula 1 News: Why Verstappen Is Dead Serious About Walking Away After 2026?

Formula 1 News: Why Verstappen Is Dead Serious About Walking Away After 2026? Max Verstappen (pictured with Sky Sports Craig Slater) has made no secret of his growing disillusionment with Formula 1. In recent weeks, the Dutchman has openly questioned whether he wants to continue racing beyond the end of the 2026 season â and those closest to the sport are treating the warning with genuine concern rather than dismissing it as post-race frustration. –by Mark Cipolloni– The root cause? The new 2026 regulations have, in Verstappenâs eyes, stripped the sport of the very thing that made it worth competing in: raw driver skill. The 2026 cars place an unprecedented emphasis on battery harvesting and electrical power deployment. Drivers must constantly manage energy rather than attack corners or out-brake rivals in the classic sense. Verstappen has repeatedly described the new formula as âanti-racing,â âFormula E on steroids,â and even âplaying Mario Kartâ â where boosting past someone on one straight is immediately undone when the battery runs out on the next. âItâs terrible,â he said after a frustrating Chinese Grand Prix. âIf someone likes this, then you really donât know what racing is about. Itâs not fun at all.â Related Article:Â Formula 1 Rumor: Verstappen will quit Formula 1 after 2026 This isnât a sudden outburst. Verstappen has voiced these concerns since early simulator runs in 2023. Now, with the cars on track and Red Bull struggling to adapt, his frustration has boiled over into talk of an early exit â despite a contract that runs to 2028. Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft is among those who believe the threat is real. In a recent appearance on The F1 Show, Croft delivered a blunt assessment that should make the FIA, Red Bull, and the entire paddock sit up and

By working directly with the official developers of Le Mans Ultimate, Genesis engineers ensured the virtual car mirrors its real-world counterpart with pinpoint accuracy. - Design Accuracy: The in-game model was built using Genesis’ own CAD renderings. - Technical Data: Engineers provided telemetry data covering suspension geometry, aerodynamic balance, and gear ratios. - Sonic Realism: The roar of the G8MR 3.2l Turbo V8 engine was captured during recent private development tests to provide an authentic acoustic experience. The car features the striking #17 “liquid-metal” livery, complete with the traditional Korean hangeul lettering for “Magma” (마그마). Le Mans Ultimate V1.3 Update: What’s New? Verstappen vs. Hamilton: The Race for Records

Verstappen Is on Pace to Obliterate Hamiltonâs Records â and the British Media Can Barely Hide Its Panic Max Verstappen (pictured) turns 29 in September 2026. At 28, he has already racked up numbers that make Lewis Hamiltonâs achievements at the same age look modest by comparison. The Dutchman has started 236 Grands Prix, won 71 races, taken 48 poles, stood on 127 podiums, and collected 4 world titles. –by Mark Cipolloni– By contrast, when Hamilton reached the end of the 2013 seasonâthe year he turned 28 â he had contested just 129 races, scored 22 wins, and held only 1 world title. Verstappen has done in 107 fewer starts what took Hamilton years longer to achieve, and he is still in his prime. With 71 wins already, he sits just 34 short of Hamiltonâs all-time record of 105. At his current trajectory, even with the disruptive 2026 regulations, the records for most wins, most poles, and most titles are well within reach before he turns 35. That prospect is driving sections of the British media and fandom to distraction. Hamilton is their national heroâthe only British driver with seven world titles and the face of Mercedesâ dominance era. Watching a Dutchman dismantle those numbers in real time has produced a steady undercurrent of discomfort, and Verstappenâs own comments about possibly walking away after 2026 have been met with something that looks suspiciously like quiet relief in some quarters. Carlos Sainz facing major F1 career problem: 'He's up against it' | RacingNews365

Former Formula 1 driver Martin Brundle believes Carlos Sainz is "up against it," as he faces the major issue of not having a strong exit route from Williams. It has been a disastrous start to the new power unit regulations for the British team, which has already encountered several problems. Williams missed the Barcelona shakedown test due to difficulties passing the required FIA crash tests, and its car is believed to be 26 kilograms overweight. Despite Sainz having scored two points, the Grove-based team has one of the least competitive cars on the grid, ahead of only Cadillac and Aston Martin. Sainz joined Williams after being forced out of Ferrari at the conclusion of the 2024 campaign on a multi-year deal, under the expectation that it would be a strong team for the new regulations. That has not materialised, with the team taking a significant step backward. The big issue for Sainz is that, if he wishes to find a more competitive team, there are very few options on the table. Asked if Sainz could leave Williams, Brundle replied on the Sky F1 podcast: "Where would Carlos go? He's been at McLaren. He's been at Red Bull with Toro Rosso, as it was back then. He's been at Ferrari and Williams. "There's no room at Mercedes. He's obviously done a stint at Renault as well—that's now Alpine. It's difficult to know where he'd go to get something better without revisiting places where, for whatever reason, he wasn't invited to stay. "So it's really hard for him. I feel for him, because while I don't think he's got the absolute talent of a Verstappen and co., he is a fighter. He's like his dad—relentless—and that plays out quite frequently. "Some of the races he's won have been absolutely outstanding, so it

Truck driver replaces passenger seat with $6,000 racing simulator so he can tick off virtual laps while stuck in traffic Published on Apr 05, 2026 at 2:41 PM (UTC+4) by Callum Tokody Last updated on Apr 01, 2026 at 3:09 PM (UTC+4) Edited by Emma Matthews One viral truck driver swapped his passenger seat for a $6,000 racing simulator and gaming PC to run virtual laps during highway gridlock. The custom installation occupies the entire left side of the sleeper cab and features professional-grade hardware typically found in high-end home offices. This modification allows the driver to jump into high-speed digital motorsport during mandatory rest periods or heavy traffic congestion. The way this rig operates within the tight constraints of a commercial vehicle cabin reveals a fascinating shift in long-haul culture. Enter our competition to win a stunning 2006 Ford GT or $400,000 cash! Inside the $6,000 cab racing simulator The racing simulator setup relies on a metal frame designed to stay stable despite the vibrations of a heavy diesel engine. This truck driver chose a steering base and pedal set that mimics the resistance found in actual race cars. The gaming PC powering the experience sits securely behind the main seat and uses extra fans to stay cool in the small cabin. Every virtual racing session requires a lot of electricity, which comes from a secondary battery system installed under the floor. This prevents the racing simulator from draining the power needed to start the truck the next morning. Footage shared online confirms that the truck driver only uses the Gaming PC when the vehicle is completely stationary and parked. The software includes digital versions of famous tracks, allowing the driver to practice difficult turns while waiting for his next cargo load. Experts note that the equipment inside this

Six-point plan designed to improve F1 - AS USA

Six-point plan designed to improve F1 ‘The Race’ reveals the three priorities that will be addressed in FIA meetings with teams and engine manufacturers, as well as the key strategies to solve them. After the Japanese Grand Prix wrapped up, the FIA finally confirmed what the paddock had been expecting for weeks: with April’s long break in the schedule, the federation will use the downtime to meet with team technical directors, engine manufacturers, and Formula 1 leadership to evaluate the new regulations and make whatever adjustments are needed. The first of those meetings is set for this Thursday, and according to The Race, the discussion will center on a six‑point plan. Going trackside at the Suzuka Esses! 😮💨#F1 #JapaneseGP pic.twitter.com/lUkekRUAMD — Formula 1 (@F1) April 1, 2026 Three urgent priorities — and a tight deadline These six proposals come from three issues the FIA wants to fix as quickly as possible. In fact, the goal is to have updated rules in place by the Miami Grand Prix (May 1–3). Priority one: safety. The concern has grown after Ollie Bearman’s heavy crash in Suzuka while trying to avoid hitting Franco Colapinto. Priority two: saving the quality of qualifying. The current format has been seriously compromised by how dependent the cars are on electric energy deployment.Priority three: preventing massive speed loss. This last point has been especially noticeable in two iconic corners: Turn 9 in Melbourne and Suzuka’s legendary 130R. Drivers and fans alike have criticized how slow and conservative the cars look in these high‑commitment sections. Many drivers say they’d rather have slightly slower cars they can push to the limit than faster ones that force them to tiptoe through corners just to manage battery usage. The six key changes on the table Fixing one priority often helps the others, and

F1 'doesn't need' Max Verstappen - legend claps back

F1 'doesn't need' Max Verstappen - legend claps back Change your timezone: F1 'doesn't need' Max Verstappen - legend claps back Max Verstappen could well be off at the end of the season A former F1 racer has suggested that the sport does not need to keep four-time world champion Max Verstappen. Wholesale regulation changes were brought into the sport at the start of this year, and Verstappen has said that the new cars are not fun to drive, while reports in the Dutch media after the Japanese Grand Prix claimed that he is 'seriously considering' retiring from F1. Verstappen has plenty of other racing hobbies away from F1, including GT racing and sim racing, and he is due to race in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring race later in May. The Dutchman has said whether or not he continues in F1 will depend on whether the FIA and Formula One Management decide to make changes to the rules ahead of 2027, which is currently set to be the penultimate year of Verstappen's current Red Bull contract. But now, former Ferrari F1 driver Eddie Irvine has said that the sport don't need to try and keep Verstappen in F1 because of the amount of other talented drivers who are already making this 2026 season an exciting one in terms of the championship battle. "F1 doesn't need Max, there are plenty of talented drivers," Irvine told Gazzetta. "It's tough for him to find himself in the middle of the pack, but considering his salary, there are over €50 million in good reasons to stay." This Trucker Swapped His Passenger Seat for a $6,000 Sim Racing Rig – Video

Long-haul trucking involves a lot of waiting. Whether it is sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic, waiting for a trailer to be loaded, or taking mandatory rest breaks, downtime is just part of the job. But one driver has figured out the ultimate way to kill time on the road, and it has absolutely taken over the internet. In a recent viral video, a truck driver showed off his rig’s incredibly unique interior. Instead of a standard passenger seat, the cab is outfitted with a full-blown, $6,000 professional racing simulator. The video starts from behind the steering wheel of the semi-truck. But a quick pan to the right reveals that the passenger side has been completely gutted to make room for a serious gamer’s dream setup. It’s not just a steering wheel bolted to a dashboard. The $6,000 mobile sim rig features: A dedicated, race-style bucket seat. A professional-grade force-feedback racing wheel and a heavy-duty pedal box. A massive, ultrawide curved monitor to provide a totally immersive cockpit view. A powerful, custom-built gaming PC tucked neatly beside the seat to run it all. He’s even got a cheeky joystick for what I assume would be for a flight simulator. Whenever traffic grinds to a halt or he’s stuck waiting at a loading dock, the driver simply unbuckles, slides over to the passenger side, and starts laying down virtual lap times. The footage even shows him actively ripping around a digital circuit on the curved screen. Genius Upgrade or Distraction? This wild setup represents a pretty massive change in how professional drivers handle their downtime. Instead of endlessly scrolling on a phone or just staring at the back of another trailer, this driver effectively turns the worst part of trucking into a track day. Naturally, the internet has plenty to say about it.
