Three sites are being considered for a proposed $15 million (approx. Rwf 22 billion) motorsport academy and racing facility in Kigali as the project goes through government feasibility assessments and approval processes. Weekend Sport has learnt that the proposed development by UnityVibe Ltd, a motorsport activation and academy company, is being considered for Gahanga, Rebero Culture Village and Kinyinya. The Gahanga option involves about 10 hectares of land owned by the Ministry of Sports. Rebero Culture Village, a 30-hectare entertainment and arts complex in Kicukiro District, and Kinyinya are also being assessed as potential locations. The investment model is also yet to be determined, with discussions ongoing on whether the project will be developed through a public-private partnership with the Government or as a fully private investment. Officials from the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) said the project must first go through the required public-interest and investment approval processes before implementation can begin. The process includes assessing and securing suitable land, determining the appropriate investment and exploitation arrangement, negotiating with the City of Kigali and taking the proposal through the relevant government approval structures. Another key consideration will be the investor’s financial commitment, including the required deposit to demonstrate that the investor is committed to and capable of taking the project forward. A short video gave fans an audio preview of the trio of rally machines we can expect to see in the game’s upcoming V0.6 update, with tell-tale snippets of bodywork leading us to believe that the Group 4 Audi Quattro (we’re pretty sure about this…), the Peugeot 206 WRC and the Volkswagen Golf GTI R5 will arrive in the game’s next Early Access update. In a previous community Q&A, Game Director Irvin Zonca said V0.6’s car line-up would include “another French car and two German cars,” which tallies with our suspicions. Launched in 2017, the VW Polo GTI R5 made its international rallying debut in the hands of former WRC champion Petter Solberg on Rally Catalunya. Harrisburg nonprofit uses racing simulators to help veterans with PTSD, brain injuries HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — For many veterans, coming home after serving can bring new battles, including post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. A Harrisburg nonprofit is offering a different kind of outlet: getting behind the wheel of a racing simulator. Stealth Werks, founded by Marine Corps veteran Adam Kaylor, uses racing simulators to help veterans with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. Kaylor said the idea grew out of his own experience. “I was in the Marine Corps from 2004 to 2008, so when I'm racing other people, I'm not thinking about that," Kaylor said. "I'm thinking about, 'I know there's a car behind me, but I can't see him anymore,'" Kaylor said. Kaylor said the simulator can provide a way to focus on something else, especially during difficult moments. “Some guys ride motorcycles, some guys hunt, fish, go hiking, camping. We can't always do those things," Kaylor said. "You know, you wake up at 2:00 in the morning from a nightmare, you come down here, turn [on] the sim, you disappear for an hour or two, and then you forget what the nightmare was even about." Stealth Werks is accepting applications for veterans, and the simulators are available year-round. Kaylor said he tests all the equipment himself and will help set up the simulator at no cost to the veteran.

Studios outsource key components of development: art, environment, animation, sound, etc, but the supply chain is longer than you might think. Art Studios in Europe are not always the creators; instead, they outsource work to more cost-effective alternatives. In Vietnam, for example. Racing games require accurate 3D assets for cars, tracks, track-side furniture and environments in order to credibly use the term “simulation”. These assets are rarely created in the UK, Italy, France or wherever else you might expect the larger racing game studios to create the cars and tracks you interact with. That is the margin by which Julia Angelard won at Poznań, in the second round of the 2026 Polish Karting Championship, setting the fastest lap of the weekend on the very last lap of the last race, tyres already worn. It was enough to make her the first woman to win that event in fifteen years. There is one detail about her life, though, that not even those who follow her closely know: she has a twin brother. At 14, Polish-born and now based in Italy, Julia Angelard races in OK Junior and juggles seven different programmes in parallel, among them the Polish Championship, the FIA Karting European Championship, the Richard Mille Young Talent Academy, More Than Equal and the newly announced F1 Academy Discover Your Drive selection. She joined Giovanni Minardi‘s stable in 2024, and he now oversees her path toward the jump to single-seaters. Logitech G has confirmed that new sim racing products will be revealed during Logitech G PLAY 2026 on September 23, making the company’s annual showcase one of the key hardware events to watch this month. The global presentation will begin at 18:00 CEST on September 23 and will be streamed through Logitech G’s official YouTube channel. Logitech has explicitly confirmed product reveals across PC gaming, console, esports and sim racing, although it has not yet identified which racing products will be announced. New sim racing hardware is officially confirmed for the event, but Logitech has not announced a new wheelbase, steering wheel, pedal set or accessory ahead of the presentation. Corsair completes Fanatec buyout after Endor insolvency, vows supply-chain fix ● a day ago What's the deal? Corsair has completed its acquisition of Fanatec, the sim racing hardware specialist owned by Germany's Endor AG. The deal absorbs Fanatec's debts, manufacturing problems, and a backlog of frustrated customers into Corsair's much larger PC hardware business. Why now? Corsair announced its plan to buy Endor earlier this year, but the acquisition looked shaky after Endor filed for insolvency in July. It went ahead regardless, and Fanatec is now part of Corsair. What's the endgame? Corsair wants to fix Fanatec's operations rather than run them as before. Chief executive officer Andy Paul told The Drive that fixing everything was already underway, though he conceded: "It's certainly not going to be business as usual because business at the moment is not as we'd like it." Two priorities stand out. Corsair says it will take a few months to build a global 24/7 support operation, replacing a service line that ran only eight hours per working day. It also wants to overhaul manufacturing, after Fanatec took months to fulfil some orders. What could go wrong? The delays are puzzling given Paul's own comment that "the factories in China are not full, not busy, so costs are actually in pretty good shape." The likely culprit was weak infrastructure and selling products that were not in stock. Corsair also plans to move Fanatec into retail. Fanatec previously sold only direct-to-consumer, while Corsair's hardware sits on shop shelves and major online stores. It's a good time for car TV—or at least there's the potential for it to be a good time. After a bit of a lull over the past couple of years, Amazon Prime announced a new season of The Grand Tour with new hosts taking the roles formerly held by the famed Top Gear trio of Richard Hammond, James May, and Jeremy Clarkson. While we're on the topic, Top Gear is coming back too, with new hosts of its own. While the Top Gear hosts have yet to be announced, The Grand Tour not only has its hosts, but it has a whole season shot and ready to air on Prime Video starting Friday, September 4, 2026. Starring in those episodes will be James Engelsman and Thomas Holland, who run the popular Throttle House YouTube channel. Also added to the mix is Francis Bourgeois, best known for his train-enthusiast social media posts.
