SEPANG: Former Formula One driver Alex Yoong has known enough setbacks in motor racing to savour the moment his protege, Taj Izrin Aiman Taj Madira, became an Asian Games champion.
Alex, who has coached Taj Izrin since April, said he was moved to tears as the sim racer closed in on gold in the Gran Turismo 7 event at the Aichi-Nagoya Games on Wednesday.
"I had tears in my eyes during the race when we could see Taj was going to win gold," Alex said on his arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport today.
