"Can an illusion be good enough to replace the real thing?" That is the exact question architect and space-conscious designer Daniel Titchener asked himself when exploring virtual motorsport. For many automotive enthusiasts, the hurdle isn't a lack of passion; it's the realization that "what I'm chasing isn't the car itself, but the feeling of driving one." Sim racing offers a brilliant out, promising a true "performance car experience without the need for a performance car garage and a performance car price tag." However, the design challenge becomes intensely complicated when trying to map a high-end simulator into a premium, minimalist interior layout. Titchener needed a rig that was "compact enough to fit in my already tiny studio, which also needs to function as our home spare bedroom," while demanding an aesthetic that "doesn't make me feel like I'm sharing it with a bad mock-up of Darth Vader's flight simulator." The result is a highly tailored, visually striking $6,082 CAD (~$4,395 USD) setup that treats simulation as a deliberate piece of spatial architecture. A Roll-Cage Aesthetic with a Heavy Footprint To establish a clean visual baseline, the build completely avoids traditional extruded aluminum profiles. Instead, it relies on the tubular steel Trak Racer TR8 Pro chassis ($899 CAD) paired with the Trak Racer Recliner ($319 CAD). Titchener notes that the "tubular steel design favors an aesthetic that echoes the design of roll cages that you'd typically find inside of a real race car," which allows the grey finish to "lean towards looking like a piece of furniture rather than a piece of arcade equipment." But choosing furniture aesthetics over modular aluminum comes with clear architectural compromises. 8 June 2026 15:30 (UTC) "We end the season knowing we have the pace and talent to fight at the front" F1 Media & Technology Centre, Monday, 8 June On 28 and 29 May, the fourth and final event of the 2026 F1 Sim Racing Championship took place at the F1 Media & Technology Centre in Biggin Hill. The McLaren F1 Sim Racing Team went into the final event placed P6 in the Championship, having experienced some challenging races despite a positive start to the season. However, with podium finishes for the team in Mexico and Abu Dhabi, the team finished the season with 42 more points to secure a P5 finish. Event Four included racing in Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi, three circuits which played to Alfie Butcher and Jake Benham’s advantage. In the round of Mexico City, Alfie started from P5 on a Hard tyre, which he managed well right to the end. He led the race for the majority of the laps but was overtaken on the final lap by Ismael Fahssi of Ferrari, giving Alfie a P2 result. Jake finished the race in P13. For São Paulo, Jake started the race in P9 with a good chance for a points finish, but unfortunately, he suffered contact, causing him to spin and fall to P18. The race saw a powerful undercut that other teams were able to make use of to undercut Alfie, dropping him from P5 to P8, but still bringing good points for the team. Despite Qualifying P12 in Abu Dhabi for the final round, Jake impressed as he drove a clean race, avoiding various on-track battles as he made up 10 places to secure his second podium with McLaren. Kimi Antonelli avoided the late drama of the Monaco Grand Prix to consolidate his lead at the top of the Drivers' Championship standings even further, beating Lewis Hamilton and Isack Hadjar in an exhilarating race that saw seven drivers retire. At lights out in Monaco, the Mercedes racer calmly maintained first place as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen faced a devastating issue at the start that saw him slide down the order before he became the first to DNF. While others struggled with various mechanical problems that forced them out of the action, including Valtteri Bottas and McLaren driver Lando Norris, Antonelli consistently opened up his advantage over the Ferrari pair of Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. However, his win was threatened with around 20 laps remaining when Lance Stroll crashed at the final corner of the Circuit de Monaco, bringing out a Safety Car that allowed many to take a second pit stop without losing too much time. It may have put Antonelli’s lead in danger, but it offered a brilliant opportunity for those who had been handed time penalties for speeding in the pit lane to serve them during the race. The restart was short-lived as local favourite Leclerc experienced an identical crash to Stroll’s and the event was halted to inspect track break-up at the site. His DNF helped promote Hadjar to his first Red Bull podium – Pierre Gasly finished ahead on the road but dropped down the order thanks to two five-second penalties – with Oscar Piastri and Liam Lawson taking fourth and fifth place. Arvid Lindblad added to a superb day for Racing Bulls as he sealed P6 ahead of Gasly in seventh, Alex Albon in eighth and Esteban Ocon in ninth. Another day, another Summer Game Fest show, another new driving game. Crazy Taxi will return, 24 years since the last new console entry (Crazy Taxi 3, excluding handheld and mobile spin-offs).
Sega’s vibrant time-based driving game was confirmed for a reboot back in 2023 as part of a shizzle reel during that year’s The Game Awards. Since then, things have been quiet, until today’s (7th June 2026) trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase.
The bright yellow, Cadillac-inspired, cab returns, alongside lead character Axel and location San Francisco. The trailer opens with a shot of what looks like the Golden Gate Bridge and there are also several jumps over the city’s distinctive graded streets.
Sega’s gaming series is also known for its pop-punk soundtrack, and the Offspring’s All I Want is used in this promotional video. This new entry is being led by the original creator, Kenji Kanno, although Sega has confirmed the use of generative AI as a “support tool” in the game’s creation.

Lance Stroll crashed his Aston Martin at Anthony Noghes, the final corner of the track, on Lap 60 of the race. In response, Race Control sent out the Safety Car which in turn triggered a raft of pit stops for the other drivers.
