Mercedes Antonelli was unbeatable in FP3, becoming the first driver to set a time under 1m 13s as he rediscovered the pace that has made the W17 look so strong in his hands all season long. Despite facing some tough competition in Q3, he came out on top once again with a blistering lap time of 1m 12.051s to secure the fourth pole position of his career. His team mate Russell suffered a more uncomfortable session, admitting that ânothingâs clickingâ for him as he settled for a distant sixth place almost four tenths adrift of the Italian. The team did an amazing job to get the car in a good place, particularly with the improvements we made overnight after a difficult Friday. "Qualifying wasnât completely straightforward at the start. The car felt a bit on edge but as the session went on, everything started to come together. We made the right adjustments, and I felt much more comfortable with where the car was by the time we got to Q3. That gave me the confidence to really push when it mattered. "That final segment of the session was extremely tense and you never quite know what to expect. Finding those last few tenths is never easy, especially with Max (Verstappen) so close all the way through. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will receive another 12 months of support and paid downloadable content expansions. Confirmed during the Summer Game Fest, before âYear 2â begins, the first season pass is to be completed. Sega showcased (briefly) gameplay of the next add-on, being Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem-themed. Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo can all be selected as driveable characters to race around new tracks and to licensed music. It releases in July. Round out the first (of six) DLCs will be Nickelodeonâs Avatar Legends in October of this year. Once again, there will be new characters, vehicles, tracks and music, with Aang and Katara featuring. Luke Bryan will return to Mexico next January for the 12th installment of his destination concert, Crash My Playa. Set to headline the event are fellow country stars Thomas Rhett, HARDY and Brothers Osborne. The four-day festival is scheduled for January 13 to 16, 2027, at Moon Palace CancĂșn. Additional artists set to perform are Gavin Adcock, Brett Young, Avery Anna, Drew Baldridge, Emily Ann Roberts, Lanie Gardner and DJ Rock. A new Star Wars: Galactic Racer trailer was unveiled during Summer Game Fest, showcasing the return of podracing along with a new location and story details. While it was briefly teased in the last gameplay trailer, podracing is at the centre of the latest showcase. Based on the high-speed sport seen in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, these chariot-esque craft were a staple of the previous Star Wars Racer games. Alongside podracers, Galactic Racer introduces a variety of vehicle classes from the Star Wars universe, from speeder bikes to landspeeders. An older Sebulba, the villainous dug creature who was Anakin Skywalkerâs arch rival in The Phantom Menace, is seen piloting his iconic orange podracer from the film. We also get a first look at podracing in other locations beyond the Mos Espa Circuit seen in the last gameplay trailer, including the returning Ando Prime snow planet from the original Episode 1: Racer. Developer Fuse Games is made up of former Criterion developers who worked on the Burnout games, and its influence can be seen in Galactic Racerâs aggressive, combat-focused racing with Burnout-style takedowns. It has been more than seven months since ARC Raiders hit the extraction shooter space, bringing about an all-new concept in the genre and introducing millions of people to the notion of escaping. Embark Studios made bank from this sensational game, pushing out content and keeping things fresh while retaining players, but the situation started going south fairly quickly. In the last five months, ARC Raiders has seen a drastic drop in players, with each successive major update failing to capture the attention and interest of gamers worldwide. The copies have been sold, and the millions have been made, but with each new month, ARC Raiders dwindles further down the charts. And as we all know, thatâs never good news for a live service game with âyears of contentâ in the pipeline. The Degradation of ARC Raiders is Tangible If we go by Steamâs player numbers, which is the only accurate and publicly accessible data out there, we can see a dire picture being painted. In November 2025, during the gameâs first full month on the market, ARC Raiders hit lofty peaks, securing a top player count on Steam of 481,966 users. The next month saw a sizeable dip, but thatâs to be expected, with early adopters who donât quite enjoy the game enough inevitably dropping off during the holiday season while they play other games. But when the new year came around, a minor uptick hit in January, only to be followed by months of consistent downward trending for ARC Raiders. At the worst, ARC Raiders saw a -39% drop month on month in peak player count. This weekâs new Online Time Trial digs out one of Toyotaâs rarest modern cars. Gran Turismo 7 sends the Toyota 86 GRMN â16 around Deep Forest Raceway in reverse, running on Comfort Medium tires. The GRMN badge stands for âGazoo Racing tuned by the Meister of the NĂŒrburgring,â a nod to Toyotaâs NĂŒrburgringâhoned development culture and the master test drivers who shaped its modern performance cars. A âGRMNâ, then, is the most hardcore version of a Toyota model, developed with heavy NĂŒrburgring influence and built in tiny numbers, like the GRMN Yaris/Vitz, Mark X GRMN, or the newer GRMN Corolla. The 86 GRMN fits the pattern exactly: a Japanâonly run of roughly 100 cars, with more power than the standard 86 and chassis and suspension changes to go with it. The Comfort Medium tires are the one curveball: road rubber on a coupe this sharp means itâll slide around, and thatâs a choice some players will enjoy more than others. The weekly events arenât the only thing on the clock right now, either. Time Trials have been busy for a few weeks, and the PlayStation Days of Play challenge that put a real-world hardware prize pool on the line at Laguna Seca is still live through June 10. That one runs in parallel with the regular schedule rather than in place of it, so thereâs plenty to keep you in the Sport pavilion this week. One Week Left at Eiger The continuing event has a week left to run. The Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 Shifter stays at Eiger Nordwand on Sports Soft tires, and it closes on June 11. This wonât come as a surprise to some, though, as the arcade racer was accidentally leaked in an EB Games Australia retail listing earlier today. Infinite Rush marks the Italian studioâs first new entry in the fabled franchise since 2023âs Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged. However, GameMill Entertainment has published two games based on the diecast toy car line since then, with different developers utilising the license. 3D Clouds developed 2024âs Hot Wheels Monster Truck Stunt Mayhem, while Bamtang Games was behind last yearâs Letâs Race: Ultimate Speed, based on the Netflix cartoon series. Instead of continuing the track-based Unleashed series, Infinite Rush is set in scaled-down open environments across four themed islands, with the ability to âsky jumpâ between each location. When free-roaming, players can smash through obstacles, perform stunts and hunt down hidden collectables. Up to four players can race online or in split-screen multiplayer, with cross-play support for all platforms apart from Switch 2 and asynchronous challenges. Notably, this marks the first fully open-world racing game in the studioâs 32-year history, with free roam elements restricted to disparate game modes in previous titles.
