The 21-year-old Italian, who won the 2025 Formula 2 title, is now a McLaren reserve and development driver under team boss Andrea Stella. Fornaroli told Corriere della Sera he will begin attending grands prix this season and is also scheduled to participate in selected FP1 sessions. “I’m feeling great,” he said. “McLaren knows how to help young drivers grow.” “Testing, preparation, and the simulator are all going well.” The Italian recently drove McLaren’s 2023 car at Silverstone as part of his preparation program. “It had been a long time since I was in a racing car, so the first laps were a shock,” Fornaroli admitted. “What struck me most was the braking power and the ability to carry speed into fast corners. Most sim racers treat Gran Turismo 7 like a game, because it is one. Make a mistake? Reset. Get punted into the wall? Reset. There are no consequences, no accountability, no reason to change anything. I stopped thinking that way a long time ago. I started approaching sim racing thinking like I own the car. The damage bill is mine. The repair costs are mine. And if something goes badly wrong at speed, that's on me, too. It's a mental shift that sounds small but changes everything about how you approach sim racing. Your patience, your positioning, your respect for the people around you. It also makes you a lot more honest about who's actually causing the problems on track. I've been casually sim racing for over ten years, mostly with iRacing. I built a second rig and started racing on the PlayStation 5 with Gran Turismo 7 using PSVR2, mostly because I missed the simplicity of console gaming. I follow the Facebook and r/GranTurismo communities and had resisted the online daily races because I got the sense that it is a bad experience, with everybody wrecking each other in a free-for-all, with no consideration for racecraft. I started to get bored with the Sophy AI; I needed that unpredictable, personal, real-person racing experience. I decided to pause iRacing and concentrate, at least for a while, on Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races in VR. For the past few months, I've been racing in Daily Race A; the attached YouTube video is a great summary of my experience. I'm not a great racer; I'm old, and my reflexes are slower than those of somebody in their prime. Maybe I'm too slow to be up with the chaos, but I try to race fair and take pride in my racecraft and patience.

Lamborghini is celebrating 20 years of its Ad Personam customisation programme with a new limited-time colour, and the inspiration comes from one of Sant’Agata’s prettiest one-offs. The new shade is called Azzurro 20 Anniversary Ad Personam. It takes its cue from the Lamé Sky Blu finish of the Miura Roadster, bringing a famous Lamborghini colour into the modern era with a more technical, layered finish. Customisation becomes core business Ad Personam was launched at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, where Lamborghini previewed its more personal approach with a limited-series Gallardo. That car wore Nero Noctis paint, matte contrasts, Callisto wheels and a two-tone leather and Alcantara cabin with Q-Citura stitching. Two decades on, the programme is far more than a paint-and-trim menu. The KartSim Pro Middle East & Asia Software is now available and includes officially licensed karts from Rotax and IAME, including the popular IAME Senior X30 and Rotax Senior Max platforms. In terms of circuits, the new DLC features the largest kart track in Asia, the LYL International Karting Circuit, as well as the United Arab Emirates’ premier karting venue, RAK Track. All circuits have been laser-scanned for maximum accuracy, with 45 layouts available in total. There’s one small caveat to the above, however, in that the software costs an eye-watering £499, so it’s definitely pitched toward the aspiring motorsport superstar or karting enthusiast rather than your casual sim racer. KartSim is a UK-based business which specialises in providing high-end karting simulation equipment and software, and just last year, it released a swathe of updated kart models and circuits, its first piece of new content since 2022.
