The four-time world champion will headline the one-off ‘Max vs 100’ event on September 16, starting at the rear of a 101-kart field with the challenge of overtaking every competitor ahead of him. Rather than featuring a conventional grid of professional racers, Verstappen’s opposition will come from across sport, entertainment and online content, alongside fans invited from around the world. Red Bull athletes, celebrities, personalities and creators will form part of the field, with ultrarunner Arda Saatçi, basketball coach Chris Matthews, freestyle mountain biker Matt Jones and streamers TheGrefg, Caedrel and TheDonato among those already announced. The event takes Verstappen back to the discipline in which his career began, having first driven karts at four years old before competing in championships from the age of seven. He went on to collect a string of major European and world karting titles, with his successful 2013 campaign preceding his move into cars the following year and eventual Formula 1 debut in 2015. Despite more than a decade away from full-time kart competition, Verstappen expects those early skills to return quickly. “In go-karts you learn all the basics: starts, defending, overtaking. Of course, I spent a long period of my life go-karting, so it’s always nice to return,” Verstappen said. “It’s about understanding the grip of the go-kart. I’ve done so many years in go-karting that you quite naturally get back into things. “I will be looking forward to just seeing the carnage unfold in front of me.” View this post on Instagram A bespoke circuit is being constructed at Silverstone specifically to accommodate the enormous field, with French racing driver and kart designer David Terrien responsible for the layout. Terrien, who will serve as race director, said creating a circuit capable of handling so many competitors presented an unusual challenge before Verstappen’s

Gamescom 2026 is putting 49-inch super-ultrawide displays back in the sim racing spotlight, with new models from AOC, iiyama and Samsung pushing panoramic gaming monitors to increasingly higher refresh rates as an alternative to traditional triple-screen setups. Sim racing hardware at Gamescom 2026 extends well beyond steering wheels and pedals. AOC and iiyama are both showcasing new 49-inch displays aimed at providing the wide field of view required by racing simulators, combining panoramic layouts with refresh rates reaching 240 Hz. The format effectively provides the horizontal screen space of two 27-inch QHD displays without a bezel through the centre of the driver’s view. While triple monitors still offer greater potential horizontal coverage, a single 49-inch screen avoids bezel alignment and requires fewer display outputs while keeping installation considerably simpler. UPDATE: August 27, 2026: Samsung has now raised the bar considerably higher at Gamescom with the new 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 G95SJ. The 2027 model combines a 5120 × 1440 Dual QHD QD-OLED panel with a 360 Hz refresh rate, making it the world’s first 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor to reach that figure. Samsung has not yet announced pricing or a commercial release date. Samsung Pushes 49-Inch OLED to 360 Hz Samsung’s newly announced Odyssey OLED G9 G95SJ significantly raises the specifications seen elsewhere at Gamescom, offering a 49-inch QD-OLED panel, 5120 × 1440 Dual QHD resolution and 360 Hz refresh rate. Samsung claims it is the world’s first 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor with a 360 Hz refresh rate. Response time is rated at 0.03 ms GtG, maintaining the extremely fast pixel response associated with OLED technology while providing the panoramic field of view that has made 49-inch displays particularly attractive for sim racing. The G95SJ uses Samsung’s fifth-generation QD-OLED panel with Penta Tandem technology. According to the manufacturer, the new

Audio brands and automakers have discovered that collaborations are good for business, especially when both logos already carry plenty of cachet. Sometimes that produces meaningful engineering. Other times somebody changes the trim color and starts talking about performance DNA. The new Sennheiser HD 620 Mercedes-AMG Edition lands somewhere in between. Announced at Gamescom 2026, it is the first product from a new multi-year partnership between Sennheiser and Mercedes-Benz. The headphone is based on the existing closed-back HD 620S, adds Mercedes-AMG styling, and includes Sennheiser’s detachable HD 500 BAM boom microphone for gaming and sim racing. So no, AMG has not added another 50 horsepower to the driver. Related Reviews: - Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 Vs Sennheiser HDB 630: Which Premium Wireless Headphones Sound Better? - Sennheiser MOMENTUM 5 Wireless Review: Did Sennheiser Just Undercut The HDB 630? What Are You Getting? Underneath the AMG treatment is the Sennheiser HD 620S, a closed-back headphone designed to offer useful isolation without giving up the spacious presentation associated with the company’s open-back models. It uses a 150-ohm dynamic driver, with a claimed frequency response of 6Hz to 30kHz, 110dB SPL at 1V RMS, and less than 0.05% THD at 1kHz/90dB SPL. Sennheiser has not announced a different driver, impedance, frequency response, or acoustic tuning for the Mercedes-AMG model. The differences are cosmetic and functional rather than a complete redesign. The most useful addition is the HD 500 BAM microphone, which connects through Sennheiser’s twist-lock system. It uses a 10mm cardioid condenser capsule intended to focus on the user’s voice while reducing surrounding noise. Inline controls handle volume and microphone muting, and the package includes a 1.5-meter 3.5mm cable, PC Y-adapter, and replacement windscreens. Remove the microphone and you still have a proper wired headphone for music. No RGB lighting. No mandatory app.

Project Motor Racing still needs a lot of updates, changes and fixes. That is known and publicly accepted by the Straight4 Studios development team, time and time again. Further changes are expected imminently, a key one being a rework of the computer-controlled rivals, which will lead to larger grids for console players. Currently, on PC, sim racers can compete against up to 31 AI cars. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, that’s only 15 (so 16 cars including yours), and was a common complaint since the game’s launch last year. Significant changes to the AI’s performance, which still, after some changes, likes to behave erratically and hit the brakes in unorthodox places, are coming soon. “We are working very hard right now on the AI in two steps,” said Aris Vasilakos, Chief Creative Officer, to Traxion at Gamescom. “One is to make sure that the AI is balanced across all classes and all tracks. So it has the correct speed and the speed is identical to the way that a human driver makes speed out of the car. “So they’re not just, you know, just fast in the corners and then slow on the straight or vice versa. “Then, we are working in parallel to make the AI much lighter for the system, which is very important because that will permit us to raise the grid count a lot on consoles, and on the PC as well, and of course make better graphics, improvements on the frame rate and so on and so forth.” Discussion

Several of these projects had been teased before the show, but Gamescom is providing the first public look at finished or more advanced hardware. The biggest developments include two Mercedes-Benz steering wheel concepts, a revised Porsche 911 GT3 RS wheel, an officially licensed Ford Mustang GTD wheel and detailed specifications for MOZA’s new MotoGP-inspired handlebar. MOZA is exhibiting from August 26 to 30 at Hall 10.1, Booth A-022, with six simulator stations available for hands-on sessions. Two MOZA x Mercedes-Benz Steering Wheels Make Their Debut MOZA has now publicly shown the first physical hardware resulting from its Mercedes-Benz collaboration, with two different steering wheel projects appearing at Gamescom. The most unusual is inspired by the Mercedes-Benz VISION ONE-ELEVEN concept. The wheel shown in Cologne uses five displays in total: four small 1.04-inch circular screens integrated into rotary controls, together with a central 2.85-inch display concealed beneath a magnetic centre section. The prototype also features eight face buttons, two thumbwheels and two seven-way switches. Its design follows the retro-futuristic character of the VISION ONE-ELEVEN rather than reproducing an existing GT racing cockpit. Alongside it, MOZA has displayed a second MOZA x Mercedes-Benz GT Steering Wheel with a more conventional competition-oriented shape. The design is closer

- Moza Racing has revealed a new range of officially licensed steering wheels at Gamescom 2026. - Mercedes-Benz, Ford and Porsche now join Moza's official sim wheel line up. - The company also unveiled its first foray into motorbike sim equipment and a new haptic feedback module for pedals. Moza Racing is hitting the world's largest gaming trade fair hard this year, with a wave of new product reveals, new licensing deals and some revolutionary tech at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany. Moza says its showcase highlights its diverse, yet unified ecosystem that spans professional-grade racing, flight, trucking, and farming simulation, all underpinned by advanced motion and AI-powered driver development technologies. The company's appearance at this year's event is anchored by high-profile automotive collaborations, led by a landmark partnership with Mercedes-Benz that sees the debut of two officially licensed Mercedes-Benz steering wheels. The flagship "Vision One-Eleven" wheel, that the company calls "a futuristic triumph", integrates five separate displays to create a digital interface that mirrors Mercedes' vision for next-generation performance, while the "Moza X Mercedes-Benz GT" wheel draws directly from the brand’s current racing line up, offering a tactile experience rooted in Mercedes' GT racing efforts. But it isn't all Mercedes, with Moza also revealing a pair of officially licensed wheels from Ford and Porsche, which leverage original vehicle CAD data to achieve "unparalleled fidelity". According to Moza, the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS steering wheel recreates "every detail of the high-performance icon", from its layout to a fully functional, pressable horn button. To bridge the gap between reality and simulation, Moza has integrated a detachable display - a sim-focused feature that provides critical data not found in the road car. Similarly, the Ford Mustang GTD steering wheel brings "a track-focused design language" to Moza's line up, with both wheels

Mercedes-AMG GT3 is making its mark in the world of simulation racing (sim racing) with professional drivers such as Raffaele Marciello at the wheel. In the debut of the SRO E-Sport GT Series, which was staged at the end of April, Marciello scored his maiden podium finish as he was classified third with his Mercedes-AMG GT3. In the process, the 2019 Macau champion used high-tech equipment with top quality competition seat, steering wheel and pedals as well as a gaming PC with three monitors for a perfect view. At the virtual Silverstone Circuit, an overtaking manoeuvre just before the end of the race enabled the Italian to secure third place in the Pro Series. For the winner of last year’s FIA GT World Cup, being able to step on the podium and compete against other professional racers was a reward for the many hours of training that he had put in on his gaming rig at home. Just like Marciello, other drivers who are normally racing the Mercedes-AMG GT3 are currently shifting their focus to sim racing such as in the Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series powered by VCO. Both race drivers and E-sports professionals are part of the field and drivers are competing in the respective classes of their cars. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is participating in the SP9 class in which it again put in a strong performance in the fourth round of the virtual Nürburgring-Nordschleife series. Four teams with the GT3 from Affalterbach, Germany, finished in the top 10. Drivers will be racing their Mercedes-AMG GT3 today in the second event of the SRO E-Sport GT Series at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The fifth round of the Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series will be held on May 30.

Harrison’s move from simulator to track gets major boost Loading article... Jamaican sim racer Jayden Harrison’s journey from a racing wheel on a desk to the cockpit of a Porsche GT3 Cup car is receiving a major boost through a new initiative aimed at identifying and developing the island’s next generation of motorsport talent. Harrison, who began sim racing in 2021, will travel to Austria in September for his first official international test at the Red Bull Ring as part of the Sim-to-Circuit initiative launched by S Hotel. The programme is designed to use simulator racing as a pathway into real-world motorsport, helping to reduce some of the financial barriers traditionally associated with developing racing drivers. Thomas Issa, group manager of S Hotel, said the initiative was born out of a desire to give talented Jamaicans an opportunity to discover how far their abilities could take them. “Motorsports is extremely expensive, and for many people, the financial barrier arrives long before talent ever becomes a question,” Issa said. “There are undoubtedly people with natural ability who will simply never know how far that ability could have taken them.” Issa, who has a background in motorsport, said he began karting at age eight and spent years competing internationally, with his father serving as mentor, coach, and sponsor. That experience, he said, allowed him to determine his potential, something he believes many aspiring Jamaican drivers are denied because of the cost of entering the sport. “The goal of the Sim Centre Initiative is, therefore, to create an environment where drivers, young and old, can practise and develop their skills alongside people with real experience in the sport,” Issa said. The Prototype Harrison is already an example of what the initiative hopes to achieve and will soon put his skills to the test

‘The Alien’ who has ‘Been Everywhere’ | iRacing Community Spotlight: Karl Samson August 25th, 2026 by Justin Melillo As of iRacing’s 2026 Season 3 build, there are so many different pieces of content available to license, with more than 150 tracks across the world and over 180 different vehicles to jump into and race with. Last month, on July 27th, 2026, iRacing member Karl Samson managed to complete something that almost the entire member base hasn’t done, or many have tried and failed to do—win a race at every track and win a race in every car under Official Series racing. These two different iRacing Awards—”The Alien” award and the “I’ve Been Everywhere” award— are two of the hardest achievements to complete on iRacing, taking not only time to do, but the skill to do as well. Not many have been able to achieve one or the other. Karl did them both, and recently, he sat down with me for a chat about what it took to earn that accomplishment. Karl, thank you so much for joining me today. Firstly, tell me a little bit about yourself! I’m from Christchurch, New Zealand. I work in insurance and I’ve been sim racing for about eight years now. Eight years… so about when you started your iRacing journey? That is the entirety of my online sim racing. Were you doing any offline racing? Did you play any other racing games before? Well, so as a kid, yes, Because I’m old, I played the original Microprose Grand Prix, and in the late teens, I played the first four versions of Forza Motorsport, but that was all offline, no online stuff. When I got a rig, I dabbled in some Assetto Corsa and Automobilista for a couple of months before starting iRacing, but everything

Road Kings will be released on 11th March 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Confirmed as part of the Gamescom Opening Night presentation, the truck simulation will see players explore and complete jobs across the American South.
Published by Focus Interactive, alongside CLUTCH, it uses Saber Interactive’s game tech (seen in the likes of Expeditions, Snow Runner and the upcoming Stuntman: Hollywood) to deliver dynamic weather.
This comes in the form of extreme storm conditions and evolving road surfaces that can cause punctures. Consequently, saving communities and delivering key supplies will be among the mission types, which differentiates it from most other similar titles.
Haulage drivers will also have to manage regular delivery jobs, keeping an eye on cash reserves and job requests, without alerting the cops to any poor driving. Driver scheduling and rest stops must be managed, including sleep stops.
Traxion tested an early build last year on a setup with a truck-specific wheel, and the option of manually selecting between the 18 gears. Back then, it was slated for a 2026 release.

Rennsport is planning to introduce a significant update next month, with the ‘Kings of the Ring’ patch arriving in September. The plan is to deliver content, but more notably, quality-of-life changes for the cross-platform sim racing game. AI and FFB changes One of the fundamental issues with Rennsport is the offline single-player experience, which is blighted by some of the most incompetent AI-controlled rivals in gaming. Random roll-overs, inconsistent pace and bizarre behaviour were evident at launch. Improvements have been made since then, but there’s still a lot of work to do. This next update aims to establish a “robust, reliable new baseline”, according to the developers, eradicating “major instances of erratic behaviour.” It’s needed. Naturally, work is expected to continue after the September update, with publisher Competition Company confirming additional resources for the AI team. Force feedback is also set for tweaks in the upcoming release, targeting “overly soft” response for Logitech devices ahead of further FFB work in subsequent launches. New paid content Strangely, as the name suggests, ‘Kings of the Ring’ will include the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Which, you may ask, ‘Wait, isn’t the Nürburgring Nordschleife already in Rennsport?’ Well yes, it is. But it’s currently behind the Deluxe Edition only. So, presumably, this is now just the ‘Green Hell’ loop for all players? Or a slightly different layout? We’ve approached Rennsport for clarification. It’s at that same October event where it will share “ambitious goals for Rennsport for the remainder of the year.” It has also announced that its plan for further community-created mod tracks has been pushed back while it works on the “core game experience.” Discussion

SIMAGIC has officially launched the TB-Neo, a new modular sim racing handbrake featuring a 100 kg load cell, adjustable elastomer resistance and optional hydraulic and haptic upgrades for $139. SIMAGIC has expanded its NEO hardware range with the launch of the TB-Neo Handbrake, a new force-based handbrake designed for rally, drifting and other disciplines where progressive control is important. Priced at $139, the TB-Neo uses a 100 kg load cell rather than relying primarily on lever travel to measure input. SIMAGIC is positioning the new model around modularity, allowing users to change its mechanical resistance and later add hydraulic damping or telemetry-driven haptic feedback without replacing the complete unit. The TB-Neo is available now through SIMAGIC and its authorized retailers. 100kg Load Cell and Adjustable Resistance At the centre of the TB-Neo is a 100 kg load cell, combined with a 12-bit sensor providing 4,096 input steps. SIMAGIC says the handbrake also uses its Full-Range Adaptive Sensing Technology, based around a cascaded amplification circuit intended to preserve detail across both lighter and heavier inputs. Rather than using a fixed resistance configuration, the TB-Neo incorporates an elastomer-based system similar in concept to SIMAGIC’s P1000 pedal platform. Users can combine different elastomers to alter the resistance curve and overall lever feel, with the company’s P-ORP elastomers also compatible between the two products. Travel, spring tension, resistance, dead zone and response linearity can all be adjusted. The main structure combines a die-cast aluminium body with CNC-machined components, while the handle itself uses POM material. The complete unit measures 209.5 x 73.5 x 382.5 mm and weighs 1.36 kg. Hydraulic and Haptic Upgrades The most distinctive feature of the TB-Neo is its upgrade path. SIMAGIC has designed mounting points into the handbrake for the company’s P-HPR and P-HPR GT haptic reactors, allowing telemetry-generated effects

The debate around Gran Turismo 7’s new physics model has raged all week, but one notable endorsement has arrived from an unusual place: the top step of a Super GT podium. Yusuke Tomibayashi, who made history in 2022 as the first Japanese sim racer to compete in Super GT, took his maiden victory in the series this past weekend, sharing the #9 Pacific Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO with Yuta Fujiwara in the GT300 class at the Suzuka GT 300km race. It was a proper statement drive, too: Tomibayashi put the car on pole by just 0.004 seconds, then opened up a commanding lead after taking over from Fujiwara at the pit stop. He stretched the margin to around 15 seconds before a late Safety Car brought the field home. Celebrating the win on social media, Tomibayashi credited a training tool familiar to GTPlanet readers. As translated from Japanese, “I was able to put the results of driving Suzuka tens of thousands of laps in Gran Turismo to use. Thank you so much!! The new handling is also very similar to the real car, so it’s great.” Of course, “the new handling” refers to the physics changes introduced in update 1.71 just last week, which our community has been picking apart in detail ever since. Opinions range from drifters calling it a ten-out-of-ten, to rally fans mourning the state of dirt racing, so a real-world GT300 winner’s opinion carries some weight. Tomibayashi knows both sides of this equation better than most. Before he racing real cars professionally, he won the FIA-backed Manufacturer Fan Cup at GT Sport’s 2016 unveiling event in London alongside Spain’s Carlos Martínez, a precursor to what would become the FIA Gran Turismo Championships. He earned his racing license in 2018, collected a string of national titles,

New Delhi [India], August 25 : Four-time Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen, who recently extended his contract with Red Bull Racing until the end of 2030, will return to his racing roots on September 16. At the Silverstone circuit in England, he will attempt to chase down 100 drivers. The challenge is set to become the world's biggest go-kart race, according to a release. Like many F1 champions, Dutchman and Red Bull Athlete Max Verstappen started out racing go-karts at just four years old in his bid to reach the top of the motorsports world and competed in championships at the age of seven. After dominating in Belgium and the Netherlands, he reeled off a string of World and European titles culminating in a spectacular 2013 season that soon propelled him into the Formula One ranks. This time around, Verstappen will not be pitted against other drivers, but against 100 competitors who are a mix of fellow sports stars, streamers, personalities, and everyday fans invited from around the world. Red Bull athletes, including ultrarunner Arda Saatci, basketball shooting phenomenon Chris "Lethal Shooter" Matthews, and British freestyle mountain biker Matt Jones, will line up on the grid alongside Red Bull streamers TheGrefg, Caedrel and TheDonato as Max aims to chase down every single go-kart ahead of him.
