eNASCAR, organiser of the world’s premier virtual stock car championship, the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series, has launched a sim racing competition open to American collegiate students.
Run in association with the collegiate esports platform PlayVS, the eNASCAR College Sim Racing Expo Showdown initially features a hot-lapping qualifying stage, which runs from the 11th to the 18th of May via iRacing’s Time Attack mode.
Driving iRacing’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the fastest 40 will qualify for the main event at SimRacing Expo Charlotte, on Sunday, 24th May, where all the action will be remotely broadcast live on the main stage.
The winner will receive a Logitech wheel-and-pedal bundle, iRacing credits, and a personalised trophy, while the other podium finishers will also receive credits.

There are also some special series that run at specific times that anyone can jump into, with the right credentials, that offer a more meaningful sim racing experience. Here are a few of the highlighted series taking place this week — 2026 Season 2, Week 9 — from May 12th to May 18th in 2026. iRACING SPECIAL EVENTS iRacing’s Special Event calendar features a selection of the world’s most compelling races across numerous disciplines. Whether you’re interested in stock cars or sports cars, open-wheel formula cars or sprint cars, sticking to pavement or playing in the dirt, running solo or racing with a team of your closest friends, our Special Events have something for everyone! iRacing presents the Indianapolis 500 (Open Setup) Known as “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” the Indy 500 is one of the most prestigious race events in the world, held since 1911 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It is part of the IndyCar Series in the United States. Both race weeks will have unattached qualifying using the 4 lap average during the week leading up to the race, mimicking the real world event. For the fixed setup race, we will be using the same static weather settings that we use for the Indy Oval series. However for the open setup race, we will be using forecasted weather for both qualifying and the race. The weather for qualifying will be static and consistent across all qualifying sessions based on the forecast. However, the weather during the races will now be dynamic based on

A new week brings a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with three fresh events now live and running through next Monday. Gr.3 around Laguna should pull a healthy entry list, but it’s a tight track for racing. The opening sequence into Turn 1 is a classic dive-bomb invitation, and the Corkscrew rewards patience over ambition. Expect to see both abused. Race A keeps things considerably smaller: four laps of the Tokyo Expressway Central Clockwise in the Daihatsu Copen ’02 on Comfort Mediums. With a kei convertible on Tokyo’s long straights, this one is going to be slow. It’ll be a race of momentum and bump drafts more than anything else. Race B moves to Big Willow in Gr.4 for seven laps on Racing Hards. Willow Springs’ International Raceway is fast, flowing, and famously unforgiving. Understeer wide and there’s nothing to hit, but there’s also nothing to slow you down before you’re a long way off the racing line. Overtaking is hard at the best of times here, and a misjudged move can get ugly fast. The T818, meanwhile, was revised at the start of this year, with the Black Edition not only bringing with it a new lick of paint. Inside, revised components promise improved reliability and durability. It still outputs 10Nm of constant, unfiltered, torque.
Finally, the load-cell add-on for the Raceline Pedals was a highly anticipated extra. This pedal set marked an all-new design for Thrustmaster, made entirely from metal. Very recently, a 100 kg load cell for the brake was released.

And one team boss has clearly seen quite how much the Dutchman has been enjoying racing outside of F1, dropping a hint that he wants Verstappen to join his World Endurance Championship (WEC) project.
