You don’t need anyone to tell you that Forza Horizon 6 is going to be another massive success for the franchise. As such, hearing that it’s allegedly sold more than 500,000 copies on Steam alone and is currently at 3.3 million wishlists, at least according to Alinea Analytics, should be even less surprising. The firm estimates that the open-world racer is already close to generating $30 million in revenue when accounting for its various editions and regional pricing. It’s estimated to sell two million units on Steam in the first 24 hours of launch, and considering that this is only one storefront, you can imagine how it would perform overall. Much of the hype could be attributed to the incredible reaction to Forza Horizon 6, which had more than 10 million Game Pass players in its first ten days, but there’s more. It’s the first title in the franchise in almost five years, and given how disappointing Forza Motorsport turned out, it’s understandable that fans are craving some quality sim racing. Of course, finally heading to Japan after years of fan requests doesn’t hurt. Forza Horizon 6 is available on May 19th for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with the PS5 version due later this year. Arvid Lindblad is only three rounds into his F1 career, but the British youngster has already made an impression – reaching Q3, scoring points and mixing it with some of the sport’s biggest names. Midway through the April gap, he sat down with selected media, including F1.com, to review the journey so far… In 2025, more than a quarter of the F1 grid was made up of rookie drivers, with Kimi Antonelli, Isack Hadjar, Ollie Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto, Jack Doohan and Liam Lawson all starting seasons for the first time. Has Max Verstappen still got something left in the tank? We all know that Max Verstappen has not had the best run of results this season. But could this be due to the new regulations? Red Bull not being good enough? Or is Max simply having “bad luck”? His history in F1 has most certainly seen many highs but very few lows thus far — from him being the youngest ever driver to start and win a race (17 years and 166 days;18 years and 228 days), to becoming the most dominant driver on the grid during the 2022 and 2023 seasons (with 15 and 19 wins, respectively). His 2023 season was the closest we have ever seen to F1 perfection, with him winning an astonishing 86% of the races. However, after a dominant season by McLaren in 2025, which saw them finish 364 points ahead of second-place Mercedes, Max was riding off an amazing second half of the season, getting 256 points from the final 12 races compared to 165 from the first 12. His miraculous comeback in the championship saw him go from 70 points behind Lando Norris and 104 points behind Oscar Piastri after the Dutch Grand Prix (race 15) to 2 points behind Lando and 11 points ahead of Oscar at the end of the season after 24 races. Whilst Max is outclassing his teammate, Isack Hadjar, by a margin of 12-4 in terms of points, qualifying tells a completely different story. Fast forward to 2026, and we now have a rocket ship in Mercedes’ hands. Red Bull, having adapted pretty poorly, scored only 16 points in the first three races and now sits in 6th place in the WCC, meaning that if this poor form continues, they are looking at their worst result since 2008.

Yes, we’ve played it and we can exclusively report that it feels like...well, it feels like a Forza Horizon game. Playground Games has taken the phrase “if it ain’t broke, don’t start hitting it with a hammer” to heart and applied its enormously successful core Horizon formula to Japan. Yes, there are tweaks to the gameplay here and there, but they are icing on an already delicious cake. A cake that tastes of petrol and scorched rubber. The metaphor falls over a bit at this point. Like all recent Horizon games, Horizon 6’s story kicks off with a veritable TikTok feed of bitesized experiences, whether that’s burying the throttle into the footwell in the new Toyota GR GT, blowing through cherry blossoms in a wide-body 911 GT or careening down a ski slope in a trophy truck. The alleged difference this time is that once you’ve finished this highlight reel, you start not as part of the festival crowd but just as an enthusiast following the travelling circus, in a more modest ride than you had access to at the start of Horizon 5. Materially, it doesn’t seem to make a lot of difference to what you’re actually doing, though; you’re still participating in races and time attacks rather than, say, spending hours cleaning a fast food restaurant bathroom to earn enough for a wristband.
