Following its initial PC release in March, iRacing Arcade is heading to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later this week on 21st August. Priced at $24.99, the console version will launch with split-screen multiplayer, allowing up to four players to race together on circuits including Lime Rock Park, Knockhill and Tsukuba. Pricing in other territories remains unconfirmed. The trailer describes iRacing Arcade’s split-screen multiplayer as “four-player local co-op.” This implies players will work together cooperatively, but it appears to be traditional competitive racing for up to four players. We’ve reached out to iRacing for clarification. We also tested a work-in-progress version of the split-screen multiplayer at SimRacing Expo Charlotte this year. While it supports up to four players, the grid can be filled out with AI opponents with different skill levels. Additionally, the console version will add four new vehicles: the 1960s-inspired Formula Fangio single-seater, the 1980s-inspired Formula Turbo, the Mercedes 190 E touring car and the Big Rig. Notably, the Mercedes 190 E will be playable in an officially licensed DTM racing series, while the Big Rig is a returning class from Circuit Superstars by the same developer, Original Fire Games. - Primary Subject: Delisted Racing Video Games Retrospective - Key Update: An exploration into why iconic racing titles like Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Driveclub, and older Forza games are permanently removed from digital storefronts due to expiring licensing contracts. - Status: Confirmed - Last Verified: August 17, 2026 - Quick Answer: Racing games get delisted and removed from digital storefronts because complex licensing agreements for cars, music, real-world tracks, and sponsor branding eventually expire. I played Need for Speed: Most Wanted on PC as a kid, four years after it came out, and I could not legally buy it today if I wanted to. Not on Steam, not on the EA app, not anywhere EA runs a checkout. The best-selling Need for Speed game ever made, and there is no store page for it. Racing games rot faster than anything else we play, and almost nobody notices until they go looking. The cars are licensed. The soundtrack is licensed. The circuits, the manufacturer badges, the sponsor boards along the barriers, all of it sits on contracts with expiry dates that were agreed before the game shipped. When those dates arrive, the listing quietly comes down. Most Wanted never got a digital release to lose The delisting language people use around this game is wrong, and the truth is worse. Most Wanted was never sold digitally on PC in the first place. It skipped Steam, it skipped Origin, and it never turned up on the EA app. EA moved roughly 16 million copies according to its own 2009 figures, then left the whole thing on physical media and walked away. Look at what it would take to sell it now. Every Blacklist car is a real licensed model, from Razor's Mustang GT down to the starter Fiat. The soundtrack is

Developed by Original Fire Games, the studio behind Circuit Superstars and Karting Superstars, iRacing Arcade takes the cars and circuits associated with serious sim racing and presents them with colourful visuals, controller-friendly handling and a much lower barrier to entry. Despite the iRacing name, this is not simply the famously demanding PC simulation squeezed onto a console. The third-person racer has been designed to offer something immediately playable, while retaining enough mechanical depth to keep races interesting. Tyre wear, fuel consumption, vehicle damage and pit stops all feature, giving players some strategic decisions to make between bouts of more accessible racing. Modes include a single-player career, Free Play, Time Attack, AI races, online multiplayer and global leaderboards. iRacing Arcade console update adds split-screen multiplayer Local split-screen multiplayer is one of the headline additions arriving with the console versions. It is an increasingly rare feature in modern racing games, but

Each week, The Athletic asks the same 12 questions to a different race car driver. Up next: Kyle Larson, who on Saturday night pulled off a unique motorsports “Double” by finishing sixth in the NASCAR Cup Series race in Richmond, Va. and then flying to Iowa to win the prestigious Knoxville Nationals sprint car race for the fourth time. This interview has been edited for clarity, but the full version is available on the “12 Questions Podcast.” Advertisement 1. Do you typically arrive for things early, late or on time, and why? There’s definitely times I’m late, but I would say 80 percent of the time I’m on time. Hardly am I too early, though. If our team meeting is at 10:30, I’m there between 10:28 and 10:32. 2. What is the pettiest thing that annoys you during a race weekend? This is super petty. And let me clarify this, because I know I have words that I say a lot: “You know,” “like,” “whatever” would be three I use. But all these Truck Series and O’Reilly drivers, young drivers, they all say “Right?” I do this with all the O’Reilly guys and even Truck Series guys: When they get interviewed, I’ll count (how many times they say “Right?”). Jesse Love said “Right?” seven times in one answer after the race at Charlotte. … I could be off by one or two, but yeah. It’s so petty. It’s not a big deal. But to me, it’s like they’re answering the question like they’re smarter than you. Like it’s such an obvious answer that they’re saying, “Right?” And it just irks me a little bit. 3. What is something you’ve learned to stop explaining to people? I don’t really feel like I have to explain myself a whole lot anymore. I’ve

A new week brings a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with three fresh events now live and running through next Monday, August 24. The headline slot this week is Race C, a 12-lap trip to Yas Marina Circuit with a 3x fuel multiplier, 4x tire wear, and a mandatory switch between Racing Medium and Racing Soft tires. There’s something a little off, though. This race plays out in broad daylight, and Yas Marina just isn’t a track most players know that way. It’s usually seen at dusk or dark, when the circuit lights come alive and the whole place picks up a character it doesn’t have at midday. Race A, by contrast, is an exact repeat. Daytona Road Course and the Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R last shared a Daily Races slot on January 12, and this week’s version matches it exactly: four laps, BOP (H), Sports Hard tires, fully Specified settings, no pit stop. It’s not new, but a tight one-make sprint in a fun little roadster is easy to welcome back regardless, and it’ll likely be the most popular of the week’s three races. Race B is the other four-lap sprint, this time in Gr.4 cars around Autodrome Lago Maggiore’s Full Course Reverse layout on Racing Medium tires. BOP is set to (M), brake balance is the only setting left open, and there’s no mandatory stop or tire-type change to plan around, a straightforward middle ground between the week’s two more involved events. GT7 Daily Races (August 17): Race A - Track: Daytona Road Course (4 laps) - Car: Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R ’25 — Event-Specified - Power/Weight/PP Limit: BOP (H) - Tires: Sports Hard - Settings: Specified - Start Type: Rolling Start - Mandatory Pit Stop: – - Fuel Multiplier: 1x - Tire

- Quick Summary: Rally games remain alive through passionate communities and strong simulators. This list highlights five standout titles, including DiRT Rally 2.0 and EA Sports WRC, as well as older games like Richard Burns Rally. Let’s face it, rally racing games feel like a dying genre. Compared to blockbuster franchises such as F1 or Forza, new releases and content for the Colin McRae Rally and World Rally Championship game series are slowly fading. Dirt racing in games such as Gran Turismo 7 or the newly released Forza Horizon 6 is limited in favor of the more popular tarmac. Nevertheless, I’d like to believe that rally isn’t a dying art form. There’s something to be said about throwing the weight of the car around corners and trying to find grip on surfaces where there is none, on the brink between a fast time and a DNF. More than that, rally attracts the most hardcore and passionate of fans, who risk certain death in real life to see fast cars drive dangerously close down tight roads or up jumps that send a one-ton death machine flying through the air, and although video games can’t exactly replicate that feeling, it does get close. Rallying has found a niche spot in the sim racing community that keeps that daredevil feeling alive by continuously supporting and creating new content online. Whether you’re a beginner trying to dip your toes into rallying, or a veteran looking for something new, here’s my definitive list of the top 5 must-try rally games. DiRT Rally 2.0 Often titled as the “Dark Souls of racing games”, DiRT Rally 2.0 is the tried-and-tested fan favorite of rally enthusiasts. But don’t let the moniker fool you; I think that a better way to phrase it is that rallying itself is the

August is usually a quiet month for sim racing hardware. The iRacing season is winding down, many people are away, and manufacturers tend to hold major announcements for Gamescom, SimRacing Expo and the Black Friday period. This year, the second half of the month is more interesting. Gamescom starts in nine days, iRacing’s subscription increase takes effect tomorrow, and several hardware launches have become clearer since this guide was first published. This guide therefore covers two things: what is worth buying at current prices, and what may be worth leaving in the basket until the next hardware announcements arrive. The calendar: four dates worth noting | Date | What happens | What to do | |---|---|---| | 18 August | iRacing raises its subscription prices | Renew today if you already plan to continue | | Until 20 August | CONSPIT summer promotion | Final days of the campaign | | 26-30 August | Gamescom 2026 | Asetek peripherals and new MOZA hardware will be shown | | 16-18 October | SimRacing Expo Frankfurt | Another major hardware launch window | Fanatec: the best discounts are now in bundles and accessories Fanatec still has significant discounts across its store, but the strongest deals have shifted towards Ready2Race bundles, steering wheels and accessories. The ClubSport DD and DD+ are back at their regular €599.95 and €799.95 prices in Europe, while the CSL DD ecosystem remains more aggressive when purchased as a complete bundle. Wheel bases | Wheel base | Current price | Status | |---|---|---| | CSL DD QR2 (8 Nm) | €429.95 | One of Fanatec’s cheaper DD entry points | | ClubSport DD (15 Nm) | €599.95 | No current standalone discount | | ClubSport DD+ (18 Nm) | €799.95 | No current standalone discount | | Gran Turismo

Today, 17th August, is the final day to renew an iRacing subscription at the current rates. Prices increase tomorrow, but existing members can renew early without losing any time remaining on their membership. Today is the last day before iRacing increases its subscription prices. From 18th August 2026, a one-month membership will rise from $13 to $14.75, three months from $33 to $37.50, 12 months from $110 to $124.50, and two years from $199 to $222.50. This is only the second subscription price increase in almost 20 years of iRacing. Existing members can still renew at the current rates today, regardless of when their existing membership expires. That means anyone already planning to continue using iRacing can add more membership time at the current price before the new rates take effect tomorrow. Renewing today doesn’t waste your existing subscription Buying additional membership time does not replace the time already remaining on your account. According to iRacing’s support documentation, an early renewal is added to the end of the current subscription. If you have eight months remaining and buy another two years today, those two years are added after the existing eight months have expired. There is therefore no need to wait until your normal renewal date to secure the current pricing. iRacing’s new subscription prices | Membership | Until 17th August | From 18th August | |---|---|---| | 1 month | $13.00 | $14.75 | | 3 months | $33.00 | $37.50 | | 12 months | $110.00 | $124.50 | | 24 months | $199.00 | $222.50 | The increase was announced in July, so the new prices themselves are not new. What matters now is that today is the deadline. The new rates take effect on Tuesday, 18th August 2026. Prices for individual iRacing cars and tracks are

Copyright © HT Media Limited All rights reserved. Mahindra Racing concluded the 2026 Formula E season in third place in the World Constructors’ Championship after Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara secured second and third positions respectively in the final race at London’s ExCeL Circuit. The double podium took Mahindra’s season tally to 252 points, its highest-ever points haul in a Formula E campaign. The final race on Sunday delivered the result Mahindra Racing needed following a challenging opening day in London. Both de Vries and Mortara progressed through every stage of the qualifying Duels before facing each other in the Final. De Vries ultimately secured pole position ahead of his teammate, giving Mahindra a front-row lockout and earning his fifth pole of the season. Both Mahindra cars made clean starts and maintained the top two positions through the opening five laps. De Vries activated his first Attack Mode on Lap 6 and retained the lead, while Mortara followed with his activation a lap later. Despite missing the designated activation point, Mortara remained in second before eventually moving into the lead later in the race. Mortara’s race strategy kept both Mahindra drivers firmly in contention. He activated his second Attack Mode on Lap 22 without surrendering the lead, before de Vries reclaimed the position during the exchanges. The two drivers then coordinated their final Attack Mode strategies; however, Taylor Barnard prevented Mahindra from securing a one-two finish after executing his final Attack Mode deployment at the optimal moment. De Vries crossed the chequered flag in second, with Mortara following in third, giving the team a double podium in the final race of the Gen3 era. Inside Simpro Academy Phuket, the simulator centre that is serious enough for real pilots and racing drivers A rainy afternoon in Phuket does not leave you with quite as many options as a sunny one, which is part of what makes Simpro Academy Phuket interesting. Found inside Soho Pool Club at Boat Lagoon Marina, it swaps the beach and boat trips for proper racing simulators in a fully air-conditioned space. It is open from 9am to 9pm every day, and the setup is much closer to serious sim racing than the driving games you might have tried in an arcade. The setup runs four simulators: three for racing and one dedicated to flight. Of the racing rigs, two run triple-screen displays and one is built around VR. The hardware is consistent throughout: Simucube direct-drive wheelbases, Simtrecs load-cell pedals, and genuine Sparco and Recaro seats, with iRacing as the main racing platform, alongside Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa EVO, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa Rally, WRC, and Automobilista 2 for GT racing and rally enthusiasts. These are not entry-level home setups. The force feedback through the wheel and the resistance through the pedals are calibrated to replicate what a real car communicates to the driver, which is what makes the platform useful for anyone who actually races as well as for anyone who has never sat in a competition car in their life. On the track The racing simulators are built to teach as much as they are built to entertain. Every session opens with a briefing covering the basics: racing lines, braking zones, throttle application and the logic of carrying speed through a corner rather than fighting for it. From there, the 45 minutes of hands-on time runs with staff on hand for general assistance throughout, while dedicated one-on-one coaching is

A one-off Ferrari widely regarded as the first prototype for the legendary 250 GTO has been selected to win the Gran Turismo Trophy at the 2026 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, putting it in line for a potential future appearance in the Gran Turismo series. The 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Sperimentale Pininfarina Coupe is the 18th recipient of the award, which forms part of a partnership between Pebble Beach and Gran Turismo dating back to 2008. It’s a fitting choice for this year’s event too, as the 75th running of the Concours features Ferrari as its headline marque. This car is about as on-theme as it gets. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi usually presents the Trophy himself, but this time the honors went to Takuya Asano, director of Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo Explore Studio in Los Angeles. It’s not the first time Asano has stepped in, having presented the award when the Ferrari 330 P4 won in 2016. As always, winning the Trophy makes the car eligible for a digital recreation in the Gran Turismo series, but it’s no guarantee. Only around half of previous winners have made the jump so far, and it can take a while: the Mercedes-Benz S Barker Tourer waited nearly five years between its win and its in-game debut. That Mercedes is relevant for another reason. It also belongs to Bruce R. McCaw of Bellevue, Washington, who took both the Gran Turismo Trophy and the coveted Best of Show with it in 2017. The Sperimentale, which he has owned since 1999, is also a McCaw car, making this his second Gran Turismo Trophy. The 250 GTO Prototype The Sperimentale exists because of a rule change. From 1962, the international manufacturers’ championship would be fought with grand touring cars rather than sports-racing cars, and Enzo Ferrari needed a

No. 95 Car Wins Two-Hour Race While No. 30 Leaps to Title By Tony DiZinno ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Sunday’s two-hour IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge season finale featured nearly as many twists and turns as the 14 corners making up the 4.048-mile Road America road course. In the end, Toney Driver Development captured both the race win and the championship in the four-race calendar covering races across Sebring International Raceway, Circuit of The Americas, VIRginia International Raceway and Road America. This year marked Nathan Toney’s team’s first full-season effort in IMSA competition, with flawless execution across both its two cars to carry a championship. The team recently committed to another multi-car effort in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge for 2027, which will run seven endurance races. The 2026 Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) season has been split with both sprint rounds and the new Airbnb Endurance Challenge component. “It feels really good,” Toney said. “We knew we had what it took, but we had a couple unfortunate races. We didn’t know if we’d be in the championship. I’m so proud of all the guys. It’s our first full year in any level IMSA series, so it’s pretty surreal. I owe everything to the guys. They bought into the system. “The endurance stuff is the only one we had a full-season entry, as in sprints, we’ve had drivers in and out,” he added. “Endurance is where we shine. Right drivers. Right strategy.” Wyatt Brichacek shared the winning No. 95 Toney Ligier JS P325 with Lincoln Day. It’s Brichacek’s second Airbnb Endurance Challenge win of the year, in addition to three VP Racing SportsCar Challenge sprint race wins. It’s Day’s first win of the season, as Brichacek’s win in the two-hour COTA race came with Titus Sherlock. “It feels fantastic; this

Design The one-off PV5 Cargo has been converted into a mobile esports hub that toured the UK before arriving at Goodwood. The cargo area houses a Fanatec racing simulator, a 55-inch display and a custom floating floor system. The conversion allows professional racing drivers and automotive content creators to record benchmark lap times before visitors attempt to beat them during the festival. Interior The simulator installation takes up the PV5 Cargo’s load space, creating a self-contained gaming environment that can be transported between events. Unlike a conventional simulator setup, the equipment is integrated into the van itself with a custom wooden shelf at the back, allowing demonstrations to take place virtually anywhere without requiring a permanent installation. Specifications The biggest feature of the conversion is its use of the PV5’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability. The entire simulator operates directly from the van’s traction battery without the need for an external generator or a power socket. CX Auto Group says that the setup consumes around 1% of the battery charge every two hours of continuous operation, allowing the simulator to function completely off-grid throughout the tour. The simulator was part of CX Auto Group’s “Epic Rivals” campaign, inspired by Goodwood’s celebration of iconic motorsport rivalries. Visitors could try matching lap times
