Corsair Gaming is expanding beyond its traditional gaming and creator hardware markets with an AI workstation initiative targeting what the company estimates to be an approximately $22 billion desktop AI PC opportunity. Corsair is developing the offering as an extension of its capabilities in high-performance computing systems, customization, memory, thermal management and power delivery. The initial target market includes prosumers and small and medium-sized businesses that value local computing, data security and reduced cloud-token consumption. Corsair said the business remains at an early stage, with a more significant contribution expected in the latter part of 2027 and beyond. The initiative comes as Corsair’s Elgato and Stream Deck ecosystem is also expanding beyond its traditional content-creation customer base into workflow automation and professional broadcasting. During the first half of 2026, Elgato Marketplace gross revenue and transaction volume each increased more than 100% year-over-year, while product submissions grew more than 300% and more than 500,000 new accounts were added. Corsair said AI-assisted development is making it easier for creators and developers to build Stream Deck profiles and plug-ins, which could increase the utility of the ecosystem and support future recurring-revenue opportunities. The company also invested in Norway-based Bitfocus and established a partnership making Stream Deck Studio and the broader Stream Deck portfolio preferred control surfaces across Bitfocus customer deployments. Corsair’s acquisition of Trak Racer was for $40 million in cash, with a further $10 million earn-out should performance targets be met in the next 12 months, totalling $50 million. Joining Fanatec, which the American gaming equipment and accessories giant purchased in 2024, the two simulation businesses now form what’s been termed a “Sim Solutions group” by Corsair CEO Thi La. “We folded sim racing into one entity, if you want to call it that way, and the Trak Racer products will fold underneath the Fanatec brand umbrella,” she expanded. Further light on the sim racing structure was shone by financial filings this week, which stated that Trak Racer “will be operating as a sub-brand under Fanatec.” Both Fanatec and Trak Racer sit within what Corsair terms as the “Gamer and Creative Peripheral segment” when it reports financial results, including the likes of Elgato. Le Mans Ultimate’s official Special Events calendar for the rest of 2026 was updated on 6 August, and the change is small in print but significant if you race these things with a team. The two August events have been swapped. What was scheduled as the 8 Hours of Daytona in the week commencing 11 August is now the 4 Hours of Spa. What was scheduled as the 4 Hours of Spa in the week commencing 25 August is now the 8 Hours of Daytona International Speedway. Both entries carry a “NEW DATE” flag on the official calendar. Spa has moved forward by two weeks. If you had a crew lined up for the last weekend of August, you are now racing next weekend. That matters more here than it would in most sims. Special Events in Le Mans Ultimate are driverswap races, run as team relays rather than solo entries. Fielding one means agreeing a line-up, dividing stints, covering time zones and making sure somebody competent is in the car for the critical phases. Going from three weeks of preparation to one is a genuine squeeze, and league organisers running internal sign-ups will need to move today. Alongside this week’s regular new event, Polyphony has added a limited-time special tied to Round 2 of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series (happening Saturday, August 15), and earning a bronze time pays double the standard credit rate. The special puts the Gran Turismo Red Bull X2019 around Deep Forest Raceway on Racing Soft tires. It mirrors the Nations Cup Qualifying race that the real World Series field will run at the event, and Polyphony has expanded the target time to make Bronze more attainable this time around, with any time in the top 20% earning you a quick 500,000cr there. You should expect a lap roughly under 1:21.000 to get you there. New Regular Event: Cobra Daytona Coupe at Daytona For the new regular event, GT7 pairs the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe ’64 with the Daytona Road Course on Sports Soft tires. It’s a nice pairing, as the Daytona Coupe takes its name from the track where it made its competition debut in 1964. Carroll Shelby’s team built the coupe body because the standard Cobra roadster was too much of a brick at high speed, putting it at a real disadvantage on the longer straights on European tracks. This Week’s Highlights The Special Event is a time trial this week, and it’s a quick one. Gran Turismo 7 sends the BAC Mono ’16 around the National Layout at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, a stripped-down loop short enough that a clean lap should come in comfortably under 40 seconds. Bronze requires a 40.300 or better for 12,000cr, Silver drops that to 38.100 for 18,000cr, and Gold pays out 30,000cr.
