Assetto Corsa Rally to support “some kind of club mode”

A highly requested feature looks set to be on the way to Assetto Corsa Rally, as a ‘clubs’ mode has been discussed by Games Director Irvin Zonca during a community Q&A session. Last month’s Version 0.5 early access update for the rally simulation included the ‘first phase’ of online multiplayer. The synchronous mode sees drivers hit the stage at the same time through a lobby browser, with additional functionality expected in subsequent updates. However, Zonca, when asked about an asynchronous ‘clubs’ mode, sounded positive that something akin to that seen in WRC Generations, DiRT Rally and EA SPORTS WRC would happen. “It’s a topic that has been discussed many times with the team from the very initial game design phases,” he explained, before confirming: “Internally, we are building our own online infrastructure so that we can support some form of club mode in the future. “So it’s definitely a feature we’d like to have. I cannot say when it will be ready, but this is something we want and we agree that it’s key for giving the players the best way to enjoy the competition, even in this kind of asynchronous mode.” In the aforementioned rally titles by different studios, events can take place over a number of days, with online leaderboards tracking progress. Players can participate in a rally, within a time frame, whenever suits them. Discussion 0 Comments Join the discussion Join Traxion.gg to start discussing with members. Already a member? Sign in

Legacy Motor Clubs Expands NASCAR Sponsorship Portfolio With Fantaec

Legacy Motor Club is expanding its NASCAR sponsorship portfolio yet again. This time, the team owned by seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson has a new two-year partnership with a company entering the sport for the first time. Fanatec, which is owned by Corsair Gaming, is one of the world’s leading sim racing hardware firms. Now, the company will featured on the No. 42 car in 2026 and 2027. “Sim racing has changed how people connect with motorsports, and Fanatec has been at the center of that shift,” team owner Johnson said. “This partnership is about bringing the experience of what we do at the highest level of NASCAR closer to the fans and enthusiasts who love this sport, whether they are watching from the stands or racing from their living rooms. Fanatec is the right partner to help us do that.” Fanatec will be on the cars in five races. But besides the primary sponsorship, John Hunter Nemechek will also be an ambassador for the organization. “I’ve spent a lot of time on the simulator throughout my career, and having the right equipment makes a real difference,” Nemechek said. “Fanatec has earned a great reputation in sim racing, and it’s exciting to partner with a brand that is so committed to performance. I’m looking forward to working with them and giving our fans more opportunities to connect with our team both at the track and through sim racing.” Fanatec will also activate at NASCAR races to give fans a unique sim racing experience. Legacy Motor Club’s On-Track Growth Legacy Motor Club is on the cusp of qualifying for The Chase this year with Erik Jones. Jones currently holds the 16th and final position on the playoff grid. The No. 43 car, which has not made the playoffs with

Assetto Corsa Rally's next update aiming for three new cars

Assetto Corsa Rally’s next update aiming for three new cars One French and two German four-wheel-drive rally cars are on the way, while the game’s lead daydreams of two further Italian classics for another time. This is an Audi Quattro, Group B - this is for illustrative purposes only and has not been confirmed That will change with the upcoming v0.6 patch, which is set to include three new cars, provided the licensors sign off on the models. This is according to the Game Director Irvin Zonca on a recent community Q&A session. While he wasn’t able to confirm the vehicles, he did provide some clues. “[They] will be another French car and two German cars,” he teased. “I would like to say more and I’m very, very, sorry I can’t just say everything, because I would, but they are all four-wheel-drive cars spanning through a few decades.” The “spanning a few decades” line indicates that the trio aren’t necessarily all from the same era. Four-wheel drive indicates vehicles from the 1980s onwards. The Audi Quattro (main article image, for illustrative purposes only) pioneered four driven wheels, hitting the stages from 1981 onwards, before other rivals followed suit. However, with the clue being vague and spanning multiple vehicles, a 2010s Volkswagen Polo WRC, for example, also meets the criteria. However, our money would be on one of the German cars to be an Audi, at least, given the brand’s provenance in rallying. The simulation already features a French car with both front and rear axles driven, the Citroën Xsara. Both Peugeot and Citroën have seen success in rallying, from the 1980s Group B Peugeot 205, to the Citroen C4 WRC and DS3 WRCs. The C3 Rally2 is a recent model from the brand, too, while the Peugeot 207 dominated mid-’00s

Assetto Corsa Rally set for improved throttle mapping and tyre model following feedback

Assetto Corsa Rally set for improved throttle mapping and tyre model following feedback In light of recent community feedback, and Niels Heusinkveld videos, Assetto Corsa Rally’s Game Director has confirmed that further changes are on the way. As work continues on Assetto Corsa Rally, the platform’s Game Director, Irvin Zonca, has addressed recent feedback about how it simulates throttle response and its tyre model. In a recent community Q&A session, the racing game industry veteran confirmed that a revised throttle system is already in the works, and that a further test with the University of Naples was conducted last month. It follows recent critique from simulation developer and eponymous equipment auteur Niels Heusinkveld, which was raised during the feedback session. On his YouTube channel, he recently published two videos with early access Assetto Corsa Rally opinions. They pay specific attention to the title’s throttle model (and tyre physics, especially when sliding), a particular area of expertise for the Dutch sim racer. He discusses how throttle inputs can deliver, in his opinion, sudden surges of torque. That spins the wheels, when the tyres, in turn, don’t provide much leeway for recovery, combined with somewhat muted force feedback. “Regarding the throttle model in particular, we have already revised it once after the initial release, I think a couple of updates ago,” explained Zonca. “Further improvements are already planned anyway, but updating, validating the model, changing it, tweaking it, takes time “This is something that we will keep improving. “I think that part of Niels’ feedback also concerns the tyre model, which is continuously evolving as well. “In upcoming updates, so v0.6, v0.7, etc., it will become even more predictable and consistent. “In June, we had another field research test with the University of Naples. We equipped another car with gravel tyres to

Max Verstappen Heaps Praise on Kimi Antonelli's Campaign: “He Pulled It Between The Big Guns”

Max Verstappen Heaps Praise on Kimi Antonelli’s Campaign: “He Pulled It Between The Big Guns” Formula 1’s newest and most unexpected bromance is officially blossoming. While Mercedes and Red Bull usually can’t stand being in the same zip code, Max Verstappen just spent Thursday’s media day at the Belgian Grand Prix absolutely glowing over Kimi Antonelli. If you thought Verstappen only cared about his own telemetry, you clearly haven’t been paying attention. During today’s media scrums ahead of the race weekend, the four-time world champ dropped some serious respect for the young Mercedes driver, specifically pointing back to Kimi’s karting days as proof of his raw, unfiltered talent. Verstappen didn’t hold back his admiration when discussing the young Italian’s background: “I think when [Antonelli] was still in go-karting, you could see he was one of the stand out talents. And what was impressive, I always think you should do a few races in a shift category and learn how to use the gears. And he pulled it between the big guns and was so quick.” Surviving the Rookie Crucible It takes a lot to impress the Dutchman, but seeing a kid jump into a heavy, violent shifter kart and instantly bully the veterans clearly left a mark. Verstappen went on to validate the Italian’s incredibly fast—but admittedly turbulent—progression in the W17, noting how much he has evolved since his debut. Reflecting on Antonelli’s grueling 2025 campaign, Max added: “For me, it was never in doubt that he would jump up and be consistently competitive. Your rookie season can be quite tough, but at the moment, he is doing an amazing job.” This isn’t just empty media-day fluff, either. The two actually built a solid connection through the sim racing world long before Antonelli got the call-up to the big leagues.

The best Umamusume replacement is $5 on Switch and Steam with 0 gacha

Ever since I devoted dozens of hours to my brother's hand-me-down copy of Winning Post for the Sega Saturn, I've had a soft spot for horse racing games. It's a sports-sim subgenre that's been huge in Japan for decades, but only managed to gain popularity with overseas audiences following the 2025 release of the hit mobile and PC game Umamusume: Pretty Derby. Now there's a new contender champing at the bit — only this new racer doesn't star glamorous horse girls, but smiling slabs of pixel-art sushi. Developed by ITAMAE Studio and published by Kodansha Ltd., Wabisabi SushiDerby is a casual racing sim where you train sushi to win races. No, it doesn't make any sense, but just go with it. These smiley little guys zip around conveyor-belt restaurants, fancy traditional eateries, and casual cafeterias. The detailed environments and cheerful character designs are a big part of the appeal here. As racers navigate the course, all kinds of hazards pop up, from soy sauce spills that obscure the screen to bursting bubbles of salmon roe that bring a racer to a halt. Like in Umamusume, you can't control every aspect of the race, but you can unlock skills and stat boosts between rounds to give yourself an advantage. For the most part, it's the preparation you do before a race that determines your performance. Since these are restaurants you're racing in, you'll also have to keep an eye on the order tracker in the top left. If your type of sushi is on the menu, you'll need to cheer on your racer with a simple button press. That activates a speed boost that will hopefully get them out of the way of a deadly pair of chopsticks — and keep them out of a customer's mouth. Just make sure you
