Max Verstappen signs 15-year-old McLaren driver to his racing team | Crash.net

Max Verstappen signs 15-year-old McLaren driver to his racing team Max Verstappen has signed a Belgian racing prodigy to his own racing team. Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has signed McLaren junior driver Dries van Langendonck to his racing team. The 15-year-old Belgian is Verstappen’s first signing in junior driver management for his own eponymous GT and sim racing team, Verstappen Racing. The deal sees van Langendonck will remain part of McLaren’s junior programme, establishing a connection between the F1 team and Verstappen Racing. Van Langendonck currently leads the 2026 British F4 standings after taking four wins in the opening 15 races. He only made his single-seater debut last year, contesting the final three rounds of the 2025 British F4 championship. “I am impressed by the steep progress that Dries has made during his career and the talent he has shown both in karting and in his first steps in open formula racing,” four-time world champion Verstappen said. “After getting to know Dries and his family, I’m convinced that all the signs for becoming a great future driver are there. Therefore, my management team and I will, with the simulator support of Verstappen Racing Pro Simulation, assist Dries to reach the ultimate goal of Formula 1.” Prior to stepping up to single-seaters, van Langendonck cemented himself as one of the most exciting up-and-coming young racing talents by winning seven championship titles in karting. “Verstappen Racing provides the support to take me to the next level in my career and marks an important step on my path to Formula 1 as the ultimate goal,” Van Langendonck said. “To be able to learn from such an experienced driver as Max and to have the support of his professional management team, alongside that of McLaren Racing, is really amazing. “I am very

Giacomin puts on strong showing in Macau

Australian Esports and rally competitor Luca Giacomin has returned home following a solid result at the Asia Pacific Assetto Corsa Shootout in Macau. Giacomin finished fourth outright out of eight qualified sim racing rally participants, originating from all over the Asia-Pacific region, after narrowly missing out on the final in the semis. “It definitely was a unique esports event that lived up to expectations for all competitors from an event and sporting perspective,” Giacomin noted. “The event was conducted as seriously as any motorsport event I’ve competed in Australia.” Giacomin opened up the Shootout with a strong first showing, winning his quarterfinal against Japan’s driver Kazuho Iwata in a very close stage where Luca had started slower in the first of four sectors, but regained his composure by the second to eventually come away with the win. Giacomin came up just short in the Semi-Final against Indonesian driver Andika Rama Maulana, missing out on the win by two seconds over a six-minute stage. Maulana then ultimately finished runner-up with the Phillipines’ Matthew Spencer Ang winning the Shootout. The Aussie representative then settled for fourth following the event’s third-place playoff, where Giacomin had a spin trying to find more speed that he felt was lacking in the Semi-Final. Giacomin expressed his excitement for the Esports rally community, following his personal experience at the event. “The FIA team responsible for developing this championship and other FIA Esports Championships are really serious about supporting Esports, even President Mohammed Ben Sulayem made it clear during his talk at our event,” Giacomin added. “The location of the ‘Galaxy Convention Centre’ in Macau was absolutely stunning to be honest, Macau’s casinos were just jaw dropping from my experience. I arrived in Macau Sunday night and took a small walk through Galaxy Casino before sleep. “Then Monday

Houston's racing simulator lounge adds speakeasy-style cocktail bar

July 15 is always a special day for Houstonians who love a dining deal, because it’s the day when Houston Restaurant Weeks reveals the first group of participating establishments for its annual charity dining event, which takes places from August 1 through Labor Day (Monday, September 7). For those unfamiliar with the event, over 300 individual restaurant locations — ranging from Michelin-recognized establishments such as BCN, Le Jardinier, and Bludorn to 21 locations of Saltgrass Steak House — serve prix fixe menus, divided into two- or three-course lunch and brunches ($25) and three- or four-course dinner menus ($39 or $55). For each menu sold, the participating restaurants make a donation of $1, $3, or $5 to the Cleverley Stone Foundation, which makes a corresponding donation to the Houston Food Bank — more than $1.6 million in 2025. Prior to her death in 2020, HRW founder Cleverley Stone described the event as a “win-win-win.” That is, a win for the restaurants who turned the traditionally slow month of August into a busy time. A win for diners who got good deals on meals at some of the city’s top restaurants. And a win for the Houston Food Bank, which turns every dollar raised into three meals for Houstonians in need. Part of the event’s appeal is that it gives diners the ability to explore new restaurants at a fixed cost. Towards that end, CultureMap has compiled a list of several of the first-time participants to help guide people’s selections. Diners are encouraged to keep checking the HRW website, because more establishments will be added between now and August 1. Anthony’s New York Italian Russo’s New York Pizzeria chef-owner Anthony Russo showcases his love for Italian-American cuisine at this recently-opened River Oaks restaurant that’s serving both a three-course lunch and a three-course,

Oracle Red Bull Racing extends data-driven performance with Oracle

Oracle Red Bull Racing extends data-driven performance with Oracle Formula 1 team uses Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications to connect finance, HR, planning, and fan engagement across the business. United Kingdom | Media and Entertainment Bringing race-day discipline to business operations Oracle Red Bull Racing has built its success on data, speed, and precision. The team uses Oracle Cloud and AI technologies to support race strategy, engineering, and decision-making in a sport where small gains can decide the outcome. Now the team is applying that same mindset to the business behind the car. With Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, Oracle Red Bull Racing is connecting finance, HR, and customer experience data to help control costs, manage operations, and support faster decisions. Planning for performance in the cost cap era In Formula 1, financial planning is tied to competitive performance. Teams must make constant decisions about where to invest, including technology, materials, staffing, and engineering programs. Oracle Red Bull Racing selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), part of Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), to support reporting, planning, and budgeting. For the 2026 season, Oracle Cloud EPM is helping the team evaluate budget scenarios and gain more insight into spend under the sport’s cost cap. Harrington describes the shift in racing terms: “Much like we simulate how we build a car, we can now simulate how we plan our budgets. And based on those simulations, see which one works best.” The team is also implementing Oracle Fusion Cloud Expenses. For a workforce that travels to 24 races across five continents over nine months, a more connected expense process can help support employees who are often working thousands of miles away from the Red Bull Racing’s Milton Keynes, UK headquarters. Parker White dominates, scores eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series win in ...

Parker White dominates, scores eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series win in Indianapolis July 15th, 2026 by Justin Melillo If the sixth round of the 2026 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway ended after 59 laps, things would have been a lot less convoluted, although the fact that Williams F1 Team Gaming’s Parker White still managed to pull off the victory in any case. Following three attempts at eNASCAR Overtime, all of which were met with periods of caution in Turns 1 and 2 on each restart, White claimed the victory after 72 laps following a decision made by Race Control. There were some caveats. At the time of the final, race-ending caution, fgrAccel eRacing’s Ryan Luza had managed to pip JR Motorsports’ Zack Novak for the lead of the race in the middle of Turn 2. The problem was that those two, as well as ERA eSport Team’s Michael Cosey Jr in third, as well as a couple of other drivers pacing the field, did not have enough virtual fuel in their tanks to maintain a proper pace speed. Parker White, who had plenty of gas in the tank, was able to make it back around and take the checkers. Novak was forced to tow. Cosey managed to make it back to a closed pit road and take a splash. Luza stayed out and coasted, but could not maintain his pace speed. This created an unprecedented result where the running order was jumbled to a point that Race Control was tasked with manually figuring out the placements of the race. The only thing that was clear by the end of the broadcast and confirmed was that White had returned to eNASCAR victory lane for the third time in his career, his first win since winning the

Super Woden GP 3 reveals new screenshots and details as Steam page goes live | Traxion.GG

Super Woden GP 3 was announced in April as a surprise new entry in the revered indie racing series. Unlike its isometric predecessor, the third entry takes the series in a new direction, switching to a 3D chase camera perspective. Since the announcement, the Steam page is now live, revealing new gameplay details and screenshots. For returning players, the third instalment will have a familiar setup. You start with a modest budget, before buying your first car, earning credits from races and expanding your garage. Once again, the “massive” career mode is presented in a classic, Gran Turismo-esque world map scattered with dealerships, race events and workshops for tuning your cars. Outside the single-player campaign, the Steam page reveals that Super Woden GP 3 will support local split-screen multiplayer for up to four players. Indie developer ViJuDa promises a “huge variety of vehicles,” ranging from compacts to classic sports cars, GT cars and prototypes. Rally cars will also feature, with vehicles presumably carrying over from the Rally Edge spin-off. There are no licensed vehicles, but they are heavily inspired by real-world models such as the Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Charger Daytona, Ford Mustang Mazda 787b, Toyota GT-One, Volkswagen Beetle, among others shown in screenshots. Each vehicle will also be fully customisable, with paint options and performance upgrades As for locations, tracks range from cities and mountains to deserts, forests and snowy environments. Presented in a comic-book-inspired art style, circuits from previous games are set to return, including Denise Beach and Denise North. Others will be inspired by real-world locations, including a Tsukuba-inspired location previewed in a recent gameplay video. Can you guess which circuit this track is inspired by? #SuperWodenGP3 I'll be showing more things soon, I need to pace myself and keep working really hard! Thanks for the support so

A 50-person racing speakeasy hidden behind mounted steering wheels opens in ...

Opened last year, Velocity Sim Racing Lounge is premier, professional-grade simulation racing experience in Sawyer Yards district. The venue houses 16 world-class racing simulators engineered to replicate competitive track racing in which each rig is fully equipped with dynamic motion systems and immersive 180-degree panoramic screens. This weekend, the racing lounge will welcome Ignition. The brand new racing-themed speakeasy will feature cocktails by Permission Whiskey & Service Co.’s Peter Nolan, elevated eats, racing simulators, and supercar-inspired design. Located behind a non-descript door – opened via a gallery of mounted steering wheels – the 50-person room centers around a custom-liveried Pro Mazda race car suspended from the vaulted ceiling, with motorsports memorabilia lining the space. “Some of the best moments in racing happen off the track, and that’s the inspiration behind Ignition,” said Velocity founder Viet Tran in a presss release. “We wanted to create an exclusive space where guests can immerse themselves in motorsports culture, enjoy outstanding drinks and food, and ignite their passion.” Designed by Peter Nolan of Permission Whiskey & Service Co. the cocktail menu features such options as Midnight Monaco with Glenfiddich 16 Year Aston Martin Edition, Velocity GT made with Empress Elderflower Gin, and an espresso martini made with turbinado syrup and Reyka Vodka. The kitchen serves shareable plates like candied bacon with maple dipping sauces, charcuterie, and seafood campechana. Alongside the bar, the space houses eight professional-grade racing simulators. Guests can race on four beginner setups with motion technology or four advanced rigs with full-motion systems and triple-curved displays. The lounge also runs live race watch parties across its six televisions and two digital leaderboards. Ignitition opens at Sim Racing Lounge at 2110 Edward St. in Sawyer Yards on Friday, July 17. The venue will be open from 5 pm – 11 pm on Thursday;

The New Gaming Trend is Making Older Games Easier To Get Into

We’ve all noticed something of a major trend emerging in the gaming space of late, and it’s centered specifically around accessibility and onboarding players faster and in higher volumes. Many games, typically live-service, long-in-the-tooth titles, have undergone paradigm shifts with a mission of getting more players into their ecosystem than ever before. It’s the order of the day, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a tough-as-nails extraction shooter, an award-winning MMO, or a years-old battle royale game; every developer seems to want to make their game easier to get to grips with. Games Are Making Their Entry Requirements Easier I’ve been mulling over this piece for a while, noticing more and more how many developers are making a concerted effort to open their doors to more players, more effectively. At Summer Game Fest, I sat down with ZeniMax Online Studios to discuss that very concept in The Elder Scrolls Online, a decade-old MMORPG that has entertained millions of players over the years. The team revealed they’re making major changes to the game’s opening segments, giving players more support for longer to help them understand the title’s complexities. Today, KRAFTON released update 42.2 for PUBG, one of the spearhead battle royale titles that has been on the market for many years. The beating heart of that update was around a new basic training system that helps players understand all the essential skills needed to dominate their game. Also in the MMORPG space, CipSoft’s Tibia recently added an extended tutorial or ‘education’ area, an all-new island that fresh players can explore until they’re level 20, all to teach them what’s needed to weather the at-times confusing game. That cultural shift came after decades on the market. Fallout 76’s developers at Bethesda Game Studios have been critically aware of the need to improve
