New setback for Verstappen: regular driver absent after surgery

Verstappen.com Racing will have to make do with a replacement for the upcoming race weekend in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup. Chris Lulham will not be driving for Verstappen.com Racing at the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup in Misano. The Brit has undergone an operation to have his appendix removed and is not yet fit enough to race. On Instagram Lulham wrote: "Appendix removed, so no racing this weekend. Good luck to Jules Gounon, who is stepping in!" Verstappen.com, Max Verstappen’s own team, had already announced that Lulham would be unable to drive due to health issues. Jules Gounon will replace him this weekend as Daniel Juncadella’s teammate. Meanwhile Verstappen Sim Racing won the virtual 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday afternoon. Therefore Team Verstappen has already claimed a victory at the Belgian circuit, while Formula 1 will descend there this weekend for the Belgian GP. Verstappen.com Racing also took part in the physical 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, but the Dutchman’s team encountered mechanical problems, ultimately preventing them from finishing the race. A lot of bad luck and problems for Verstappen.com Racing Verstappen.com Racing has suffered a lot of misfortune and retirements recently. During the GT World Challenge Europe, Verstappen’s team retired at the Monza circuit. Early on in the race, the team suffered a heavy crash and the team were eventually forced to retire from the race. This setback at Monza came shortly after the retirement at the Nürburgring. Verstappen.com Racing also competed in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, but just before the end, that race also ended in a DNF due to technical problems. Verstappen and his teammates were on course for victory for a long time, but ultimately went home empty-handed.

NASCAR 26 game music soundtrack unveiled

NASCAR 26 has a release month (September), a cover star (Kyle Larson), a confirmed track (Qualcomm Circuit) and one new confirmed feature (celebratory burnouts). While we await further gameplay features and footage – filming for promotional videos was teased on the game’s Instagram story recently – the music soundtrack has been confirmed. 19 tracks cover various genres, from T.I.’s bass buster LET ‘EM KNOW, to the dulcet southern tones of Sweet Home Alabama by Lynrd Skynyrd. Those who were fans of American nu metal in the ‘00s may appreciate Alien Ant Farm’s inclusion (although with a 2026 track, Reasons). Fellow retro rockers Papa Roach also feature, but not with Last Resort, but Wake Up Calling. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is Executive Director at iRacing, and has previously shared on social media a call to NASCAR fans to input song suggestions. He discussed an option to “control what you want to hear and what you don’t.” The Hot Skillet Lickers’ track about his late father, and NASCAR Hall of Famer, is included in a nod to The Intimidator. Rennsport R1 Spring '26: Porsche Coanda take title

After failing to even make the final in the Esports World Cup last year, Porsche Coanda has bounced back one year later to win the latest season of Rennsport R1 competition. It beat Verstappen Sim Racing in a head-to-head Finalist Mode battle at Daytona, where Josh Rogers finally came good with, remarkably, his first win of the season. It started with a Hero Stage, where each team had to select two races each for their two drivers to score double points throughout, and teams came with different approaches to the format. Four teams used their hero on a #2 driver throughout the two reverse grid races, while VSR and Porsche Coanda went based on track. VSR came into the day ahead of the rest on points, but persistence from BS+ Competition, and especially a magnificent performance in race three, brought them to just one point behind when points were adjusted for the second phase. Porsche Coanda caught up with the final Hero race at Daytona, putting them just seven points back. It was just 160 points to reach Finalist Mode, and given how close it was, each of those three teams could reach it after just two races, at Spa, followed by Monza. At Spa, Porsche Coanda qualified first and second, allowing them to control the race and take a maximum of 36 points. With Caique Oliveira getting a penalty for BS+, it was up to VSR to stay close. And they were doing a decent job until Kevin Siggy got into a crash with David Sobreiro, and suddenly, Porsche Coanda were in the driver’s seat. This was confirmed when they locked out the front row of race two, defended their positions unusually but successfully on lap one, and then followed one another home for another 36 points. This put

PlayStation Goes Digital-Only: The Impact on Gran Turismo 8

The news has hit hard among collectors and sim racing purists. Sony has officially confirmed that starting in January 2028, PlayStation will stop producing physical discs for all new releases. This means highly anticipated titles, including the upcoming Gran Turismo 8, will be exclusively digital. The numbers behind the decision Sony didn’t pull this date out of thin air. The transition is driven by aggressive market trends: by Q4 of the 2025 fiscal year, a staggering 85% of full game sales on PlayStation were digital. To put that into perspective, when the PS4 first launched, digital sales accounted for less than 10% of total volume. With the platform clearly favoring digital convenience, Sony sees physical media as an aging, costly relic. How will this affect Gran Turismo 8? For a title like Gran Turismo 8, this shift is polarizing. While racing fans represent a community that historically values physical ownership, the numbers suggest the majority of players are already moving to the cloud: - The death of the long tail: Gran Turismo games traditionally enjoy a very long sales tail. Physical discs allowed for a secondary market that kept the game relevant for years. Now, Sony controls the entire lifecycle—they can remove the game, adjust pricing without competition, or keep it live indefinitely. - Pricing power: With physical retailers out of the picture, GT8 will likely stay at full price for much longer. Without the competition of third-party sellers, players will be at the mercy of the PlayStation Store’s internal promotional calendar. - Community ownership: Sim racing is a hobby of precision and permanence. Many players build “digital shrines” of their favorite titles. The move to digital-only means your GT8 collection is essentially a subscription to your own account, subject to the future of PlayStation’s servers. More sales, less freedom?

This new simulator center is off to the races | Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business

It took just one night out, followed by a year of hard work, for one family’s business venture to get revved up and ready to go. Now, the Bedoya family’s new racing simulator center in Kennewick has taken off from the starting line. Co-owner Alex Bedoya said he hadn’t heard of simulator racing before going to a sim racing facility in Idaho last year. But something sparked, and he began asking the owner questions. The owner had launched it as a side business and it was doing well. “I turned to my son, to Kenton, and I said, ‘Hey, we don’t have anything like this in the Tri-Cities. Let’s talk about maybe opening one,’” Alex Bedoya recalled. Talks quickly turned to reality, and on June 6, and the family opened Revzone at 10379 W. Clearwater Ave., Suite 120, in Kennewick. Four family members went in on the venture: Alex Bedoya and his wife Lisa, their son Kenton, and his wife Mackenzie. Simulator racing requires several pieces of equipment. Revzone has seven “rigs” to race on – a setup with a seat, pedals, steering wheel, headphones, and a wide, curved monitor screen. One of the rigs is kid-sized, and another one is full-motion. While all provide haptic feedback so drivers can feel vibrations through the seat, pedals and steering wheel, the full-motion simulator is set up so that the chair will move with the turns – or crashes. Racers must sign a waiver, then an employee helps them get set up. Settings can be changed to make the simulations easier or harder depending on the player’s ability. “If you know what you want, you can come in and choose. If you don’t, we also have a list of our recommended first-time racing tracks and cars,” said Mackenzie Bedoya. Players get to

22 Drivers Designed a Virtual Race Route Between Casinos and Motor Speedway

On June 18, 2026, 22 professional and sim-racing drivers met in Las Vegas to design a virtual street race inspired by Monopoly Live. The 38.6-mile course connected the Strip, Downtown Las Vegas and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Engineers, esports specialists and former NASCAR crew members turned famous landmarks into strategic zones, giving every sector its own balance of speed, risk and reward. Monopoly Live Turns Las Vegas into a Racing Board The route began near Mandalay Bay, passed the Bellagio fountains and Fremont Street, then headed north toward the speedway. Drivers tested 64 layouts before choosing a version with 17 timed sectors, six overtaking zones and three virtual pit areas. In a separate reaction lounge, participants could play Chicken Road in demo mode while analysts compared their risk choices with braking decisions made on the course. The average run lasted 41 minutes 12 seconds, while IndyCar reserve driver Mason Reed recorded the best time at 39 minutes 48 seconds. Monopoly Live Mechanics Shape Every Sector Each major location worked like a property square, with points awarded for precision, consistency and energy management rather than raw speed. Screens at Caesars Forum displayed sector data beside probability models, while an exhibition based on https://kazino-igri-bg.net/kategorii/20-linii illustrated how fixed patterns can shape expectations. Organizers stressed the difference: racing results depended on skill, traffic, tire temperature and timing, while live-game outcomes followed systems of chance. Monopoly Live Strategy Meets Motorsport Data Former NASCAR strategist Cole Harris divided the course into four phases: casino district, downtown grid, industrial corridor and speedway approach. Drivers lost up to 12 seconds for aggressive curb use and earned efficiency points by keeping battery temperature between 31°C and 36°C. The hardest section was a simulated corner near Sahara Avenue, where 14 of the 22 drivers exceeded the target speed during the

Dillmann, Clarke Win LMP2 Headline Race at CTMP

Inter Europol Competition claimed victory in Sunday’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship LMP2 headline Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Tom Dillmann drove the No. 43 Oreca 07 Gibson to a 9.796-second win over the second-placed No. 04 CrowdStrike by APR entry of Alex Quinn in the two-hour and 40-minute contest that saw multiple strategies at play in all three classes. While Jeremy Clarke led from pole in the Polish squad’s LMP2 entry, a pair of early race full-course cautions saw the No. 04 CrowdStrike entry of George Kurtz briefly take the lead after staying out during the second yellow, which saw the majority of the runners pit for service. An alternate strategy for the No. 52 Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca put FIA Bronze-rated Misha Goikhberg out front before pitting exactly at the halfway mark to change over to Ricky Taylor. The call, however, didn’t play out as Taylor was forced to make a full-service final stop with 42 minutes to go that dropped the Cadillac factory driver on loan to fourth, nearly 50 seconds behind. Quinn took over the lead when Goikhberg pitted, but was then passed by Dillmann for the lead with 1 hour and 14 minutes to go, where the Inter Europol entry remained out front for the duration. It marked Dillmann and the team’s second win at CTMP in three years, and also came in a redeeming run after a late-race mechanical failure sent Dillmann out of the race lead and to the hospital last year with fractured vertebrae. Inter Europol became the fourth different LMP2 winner in as many races so far this season. The No. 99 AO Racing Oreca of Dane Cameron and PJ Hyett, last year’s winners at CTMP, was third, which saw late-race stops for fuel top-ups for
