Sabelt and PXN set to appear at <b>SimRacing</b> Expo Frankfurt

- Sabelt and PXN are set to attend SimRacing Expo Frankfurt this October - Sim Motion, SimUltimate, Race Bear, Wolf Racing, MAXMORE and Pokornyi Engineering also confirmed - Event takes place 16th-18th October at Frankfurt Messe, Hall 12 Sabelt and PXN have both announced they will exhibit at this year’s SimRacing Expo Frankfurt, joining a growing legion of hardware specialists in the process. Sabelt is perhaps best known as a car seat manufacturer synonymous with top-class motorsport products, including seat belts and race suits, but in 2023 the Italian firm branched out into sim racing with its S, P, and X Series range of cockpits. It will showcase its lineup of seats, cockpits and other sim racing accessories in Hall 12 of the Frankfurt Messe complex between the 16th and the 18th of October, with Chinese brand PXN also set to attend. PXN, which also appeared at the recent SimRacing Expo Charlotte event, produces a wide range of sim racing hardware, from direct drive wheelbases to shifters and even flight simulator equipment. iRacing set to increase subscription costs

- iRacing subscription costs to increase from 18th August 2026 - Players can still renew early before the changes come into effect iRacing has announced today that it will increase subscription costs for new and current players across the board. It’s only the second occasion since 2008 that iRacing subscription costs have risen, with the new price structure set to come into effect from the 18th of August 2026. However, up until this date, new and returning customers can extend their subscription period by up to two years, which will roll over beyond the projected end date of their current deal. Once this runs out, however, the new pricing will apply, meaning a one-month subscription will increase by $1.75 to $14.75, while a 24-month subscription will increase by $23.50 to $222.50. Thankfully, car and track content pricing remains unaffected for the moment, with iRacing still offering more than 30 cars and more than 25 tracks as base content. Value The U.S.-based sim’s pricing structure has been a hot topic for several years, with many virtual drivers extolling the virtues of its peerless online matchmaking services. Others, however, point to its comparatively high content prices and the requirement for a subscription to access purchased content as major drawbacks. Porsche Esports Supercup: The Regional Championships kick off in style

The 2026 Porsche Esports Supercup is well underway with the Regional Championships, as the best talent fights for the big prize: Taking their racing career from sim to asphalt. The best sim racers from across the world are battling it out in the Porsche 911 Cup in the hope of reaching the World Championships, taking place later this year. Over 100 drivers qualified for the Regional Championships, which will take place across four regions: Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Middle East-Africa. Several races have already taken place, with plenty of thrilling action to kick off this year’s Porsche Esports Supercup. The qualifying phase There has been a significant increase in participation in 2026, with over 2,000 drivers participating in the qualification races. A total of 504 drivers can be considered active, having earned enough points to be listed in the official iRacing statistics. Of these, 263 are from Europe, 161 from the Americas, 68 from the Asia-Pacific region, and 12 from the Middle East and Africa. In terms of performance, drivers from Europe achieved the highest average points overall. Drivers could qualify for the Regional Championships via either the National Championships, organised by official national Porsche markets, or the Global Open Qualifier (GOQ). This year, the top three drivers from each National Championship, including the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup North America, Great Britain, and the Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring, were eligible to qualify for the Regional Championship. Drivers who did not qualify via their national series, or who come from regions without a National Championship, were able to take part in the GOQ to secure a place in the Regional Championship. Forza Horizon 6 Ito region Treasure Hunt location This week's Festival Playlist Treasure Hunt chest is in Ito, on the beach at the northeast tip of the region, past the coastal town of Ine—you can see the white and blue sign on your map. It's basically as northeast as you can travel in the region, and there are no major events around here, just a billboard. Simply: - Travel to the coastal town of Ine in the north of Ito—this is where the Moto Auto Zine story missions take place. - Take the road northeast up the narrow coastline on the right side of the harbour. - Drive onto the sand and up to the northern tip, where you'll see the chest. - Crash into the Treasure Hunt chest to smash it, completing the challenge. Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial: Eau No, Not Again!

This week’s new Online Time Trial isn’t doing itself any favors on variety. Gran Turismo 7 sends the McLaren 650S Gr.4 back to Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, running with High Speed BOP on Racing Hard tires with specified settings. Of course, it’s not necessarily a bad combo. The 650S is one of the more forgiving Gr.4 cars in GT7, and Spa rewards exactly that kind of easy confidence through its faster sections. The problem is timing: this is now the second active online event asking players to set laps at Spa-Francorchamps, running alongside the Mercedes-AMG Virtual Championship that still has over a week left. Fortunately, the flat-out run through Eau Rouge and Raidillon remains one of the most demanding sequences in racing, and the lap’s blind crests and elevation changes punish anything less than full commitment. It’s just a lot of the same scenery for GT7’s time trial specialists. The history of Pikes Peak Hillclimb in <b>sim racing</b>, and why its currently missing

The Peaks Peak International Hillclimb is one of motorsports’ most-feared challenges. Amongst the Rocky Mountains, an intestinal road rises to over 14,115 feet above sea level. The altitude makes it hard to breathe, the drops are steep and riddled with uncompromising rocks. This mercurial Front Range member bites, hard. That doesn’t stop a group of lunatics from trying to drive (or ride) up it as quickly as possible each year in The Race to the Clouds. Not for me, that. Far too dangerous. I’ll stay at home and experience the daunting prospect virtually, thanks. Except. I can’t really. Not officially or in laser-scanned glory. Which is odd, and a bit confusing. Some say it’s because of a Gran Turismo exclusive deal… but is it actually? Here’s the full story of a notorious Rocky Mountain route that is missing from sim racing. Before we discuss Pikes Peak’s racing game and simulation backstory, we must first understand the appeal of the real-world event. The concept itself is simple enough, but the road used is anything but, lasting over 12 miles and 156 turns. Initially held in 1916 as a dirt event, by the mid-1990s, sections of the pathway were covered in a ‘surface treatment’, and in 2012, after several years of work, it became entirely asphalt. Romain Dumas holds the record, a 7-minute 57-second run in the frankly bonkers electric Volkswagen ID. R, and while he won the event again this year, in a Ford Super Mustang Mach-E, he was 20 seconds behind his past best. This is perhaps due to several large bumps appearing on the higher areas.
