Milan, Italy - 9th July, 2026: Global Publisher 505 Games and world renowned sim-racing developer KUNOS Simulazioni have released a massive new update for the early access racing game, Assetto Corsa EVO. Update 0.8 adds three fully licensed track-ready cars (KTM X-Bow GT2, KTM X-Bow GT4 and Volkswagen Golf 8 R), South Africa’s historic and glorious Kyalami Grand Prix circuit, enhanced VR support introducing foveated rendering with more options to optimise performance/<wbr />visuals, and the next stage of user-generated content integration with players able to bring community-created cars and liveries into multiplayer for the first time. To see these new additions in action, please see the trailer here: https://youtu.be/<wbr />HVBCOMFA120 Assetto Corsa EVO’s featureset has evolved substantially since it hit Early Access in January, 2025 and Update 0.8 is the latest leap forward as the team accelerates towards 1.0 launch. For a complete summary of Update 0.8’s headline features please see below: NEW CARS - KTM X-Bow GT2 One of the most extreme expressions of the modern GT2 class. Built around a lightweight carbon monocoque and a potent five-cylinder turbocharged engine, the X-Bow GT2 distils KTM’s stripped-back, function-first philosophy into a car of brutal directness. - KTM X-Bow GT4 The GT4-homologated sibling brings the same lightweight DNA into a more accessible package built to GT4 regulations. Agile, communicative and quick to reward clean inputs, it offers a natural entry point into structured customer, racing sporting a distinctive silhouette and predictable handling. - Volkswagen Golf 8 R The all-wheel-drive flagship of the Golf range adds an everyday-usable, all-weather performance option to the roster, sitting naturally alongside the Golf 8 GTI that EVO players already know. Composed, fast and deceptively capable, the Golf 8 R is the understated rocket of Assetto Corsa EVO’s growing car line-up. NEW TRACK - Kyalami Grand Prix

Assetto Corsa EVO edges ever closer to the pivotal Version 1.0 release, this time with V0.8. Released today, 9th July 2026, the latest early access update adds the Kyalami circuit and three new cars: KTM X-Bow GT2, KTM X-Bow GT4 and Volkswagen Golf R Mk8. Perhaps more pertinent will be a touted improvement in virtual reality performance, with foveated rendering an option that we found made VR racing smoother . It’s not the only performance-focused change, with ‘enhanced VRAM reporting’ and ‘supersampling and enhanced windshield rendering’ added. That’s all very tech-heavy, but developer Kunos Simulazioni claims these result in on-screen performance enhancements. If you’d like to know all the changes to the game’s rendering, the list is below. We took this image using the freecam, which now works better (in our testing) following Version 0.8 June’s update marked the start of car mod creation. This update expands upon that, with community-created vehicles now allowed to be used in multiplayer, plus the ability to create custom liveries within the external mod SDK. There’s, as ever, a host of game crash and bug fixes (listed below), and we also got on better with the freecam in our testing, too. Assetto Corsa EVO Version 0.8 update patch notes Content KTM X-Bow GT2 KTM X-Bow GT4 Volkswagen Golf 8 R Kyalami General external livery creation support fix for crash when player is changing car setup while the session changes or restarts added protection for controls listening while the session changes or restarts fixed a crash when starting the game from a mapped network drive fixed empty showroom showing briefly after launch before the splash screens added numberplate selector in the paintshop for relevant cars Multiplayer possible crash fix when joining an MP server server/MP chat: feedback after using admin commands fix for a startup

JAYDEN Ojeda and Andrew Gilliam are the up-and-coming duo hoping to become Supercars’ next prolific driver/engineer combination. There have been plenty of memorable working relationships over the years in Supercars, from Jamie Whincup/David Cauchi and Scott McLaughlin/Ludo Lacroix to Chaz Mostert/Adam DeBorre and David Reynolds/Alistair McVean. Current combos with more than three years together include Broc Feeney/Martin Short, Matt Payne/Jack Bell, Cam Waters/Sam Potter and Brodie Kostecki/George Commins – and those four just so happen to represent the top quartet in the 2026 championship standings. Ojeda and Gilliam got a headstart on their PremiAir partnership late last year and have become inseparable since, extending to GT World Challenge Australia as well as the sim racing arena where Gilliam himself is renowned for his prowess behind the wheel. He in fact represented Tickford Racing in the televised 2020 Supercars Eseries back in COVID times. “I love working with Gilly,” Ojeda told V8 Sleuth. “He’s a great guy and we get along really well. “Obviously he is a well-credentialed sim driver himself, so it’s good to share that relationship – he understands it like a driver, which is awesome, but then he is also one of the smartest people I’ve met. “So to have that power in your corner is awesome. “We’re both young and still learning so much, so we just keep chipping away at it.” It creates an interesting dynamic where beyond their efforts to take the #31 Camaro to the front, they often get stuck into competition against one another in the virtual world. “I’m probably more experienced on another platform but when it comes to iRacing he is incredibly good. He smokes me on iRacing each time,” Ojeda laughed. Gilliam isn’t the only race engineer with driving expertise in the PremiAir camp; on the #777 side, Declan Fraser

For all intents and purposes, Graham Doyle is still relatively new to major motorsports. His primary ride is the No. 10 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America for Wayne Taylor Racing alongside Danny Formal. He also serves as the third driver for WTR’s No. 45 Lamborghini in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship alongside Formal and Trent Hindman. This weekend, Doyle will make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at Lime Rock Park for TRICON Garage in its No. 5 Toyota. Our own Phil Allaway sat down with Doyle at Watkins Glen International to talk about how this opportunity came about, his racing background and his future desires. Phil Allaway, Frontstretch.com: A couple of weeks ago, TRICON Garage announced that you’re going to make your Truck debut at Lime Rock. How did that opportunity come together? Doyle: My manager since I started is a guy named Jeff Burton, a NASCAR driver himself who just got inducted in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. A legend of the sport. This all came about because NASCAR went to St. Pete this year for the first time this year, my home race. I live in Clearwater, which is a 20-minute drive. I was super-interested in going to that. He has a son that races in the [NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series] and he’s been a Toyota driver forever. I was able to meet a lot of the guys at TRICON Garage and TRD. We really just got to talking and we spoke about … how my knowledge of road courses could help them. I was fortunate enough to get onto the sim at the TRD shop and showed them what I could offer the team. They were able to find me a race at Lime Rock. It’s going to be my

A brand new track is coming to Project Motor Racing. Actually, it’s more of a playground with the option of not one, but six raceable layouts.
Following social media teasers, Traxion understands that a Test Centre will be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S drivers tomorrow, Thursday, 9th July, for free via the in-game ModHub.
Reminding us a little of Gran Turismo 3’s Complex String test circuit, Straight4 Studios’ Italy-set venue includes switchback turns, banked corners, concrete-lined technical areas and multiple surface types.
It can be freely explored, but is also designed to help modders, who can test different surfaces, kerbs and corner types before implementing in their own creations. The developers are believed to be working on a guide to track modding, which will sample files and provide the ability to tweak the Test Centre as part of the learning process.
For those who simply want a new venue to race, offline and on, five set layouts (alongside the sixth ‘playground’ mode) have been created.

Golden Lap is Noodlecake's take on the racing sim with minimum glitz, maximum strats Pedal to the metal - Golden Lap is the newest release from Noodlecake Games, and a bit of an oddity - They're tackling the racing sim, with Golden Lap offering a minimalist take on the genre - Just don't expect simplicity, as you'll be challenged to manage a motorsports team from top to bottom Noodlecake has consistently delivered new and interesting releases on a regular basis over the years, bringing plenty of great stuff to mobile like Death Road to Canada and Yes, Your Grace. And the latest genre they're tackling is the racing sim, with Golden Lap now on iOS and coming soon to Android! If it doesn't strike you immediately upon looking at it, you'll find that Golden Lap is all about the big picture. You won't be stepping behind the wheel yourself, but instead control the entire team, managing your mechanics, drivers, and even the sponsors behind the cars themselves. Taking the inside corner But while Golden Lap encourages you to take charge of all facets of the motorsport world, it also doesn't want to overburden you with too much information. You'll be given the essential info, and need to make intuitive decisions based on what you know, and the possible outcomes.Of course, the actual races themselves are still the focus, and you'll get the experience of being in the control room yourself, keeping an eye on proceedings and hoping your predictions and decisions win out. As the store page puts it, you aren't racing a spreadsheet in this era and things can change on a dime. For Noodlecake, this is certainly an oddity. With previous examples such as Saturn Slalom, The Enchanted World or even when they published Bennett Foddy's Getting Over

Garrett Lowe returns to eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series victory lane at Iowa July 8th, 2026 by Justin Melillo Last year, BS+COMPETITION’s Garrett Lowe embarked on his first season of racing in the NASCAR Euro Series, complimenting his successful virtual racing arc in the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series that’s been ongoing since 2019. His “Sim to Reality” story continues to be documented frequently, but the symbiosis between the disciplines hasn’t been fully beneficial to this point. In the first year of being his team’s “Hybrid Racer”, Lowe went winless in the Championship Series for the first time since the 2021 season, and he was relegated down into the Qualifying Series to kick off 2026. Now, Lowe is hitting his stride on both accounts, finding success on the V8GP circuit overseas while existing in the top half of the Championship Series standings entering Iowa Speedway on Tuesday night. After the dust settled on the caution-free night in Iowa, Lowe managed to not only win his Heat race and lead the opening stint, but also pass the only driver previously to win a points-paying race at Iowa, Spire Motorsports’ Steven Wilson, through a wild pit cycle on a setup where it was hard to pass, claiming his sixth-career Championship Series win, tying for 11th on the all-time most wins list. THIS PASS ‼️‼️‼️ Lowe may have dominated, but he had to pass one of the best in Wilson pic.twitter.com/Ikbnvfl3oJ — NASCAR Gaming and Esports (@ENASCARGG) July 8, 2026 “I think we made it look really easy, but that was a really difficult race,” Lowe said post-race. “That was probably the most tire management that we’ve had in a really long time in this series, and it was a lot of fun. There was a little bit of pit strategy in the middle.
