A brand new track is coming to Project Motor Racing. Actually, it’s more of a playground with the option of not one, but six raceable layouts.
Following social media teasers, Traxion understands that a Test Centre will be available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S drivers tomorrow, Thursday, 9th July, for free via the in-game ModHub.
Reminding us a little of Gran Turismo 3’s Complex String test circuit, Straight4 Studios’ Italy-set venue includes switchback turns, banked corners, concrete-lined technical areas and multiple surface types.
It can be freely explored, but is also designed to help modders, who can test different surfaces, kerbs and corner types before implementing in their own creations. The developers are believed to be working on a guide to track modding, which will sample files and provide the ability to tweak the Test Centre as part of the learning process.
For those who simply want a new venue to race, offline and on, five set layouts (alongside the sixth ‘playground’ mode) have been created.

His “Sim to Reality” story continues to be documented frequently, but the symbiosis between the disciplines hasn’t been fully beneficial to this point. In the first year of being his team’s “Hybrid Racer”, Lowe went winless in the Championship Series for the first time since the 2021 season, and he was relegated down into the Qualifying Series to kick off 2026. Now, Lowe is hitting his stride on both accounts, finding success on the V8GP circuit overseas while existing in the top half of the Championship Series standings entering Iowa Speedway on Tuesday night. After the dust settled on the caution-free night in Iowa, Lowe managed to not only win his Heat race and lead the opening stint, but also pass the only driver previously to win a points-paying race at Iowa, Spire Motorsports’ Steven Wilson, through a wild pit cycle on a setup where it was hard to pass, claiming his sixth-career Championship Series win, tying for 11th on the all-time most wins list. Nissan’s new plan to get in more homes Amid its radical restructure and focus on the Nismo brand, Nissan has entered a licensing deal with one of the biggest sim racing brands. Nissan is relying on the performance and enthusiast aspect of its business to get it out of a hole, and has further strengthened that plan by announcing a new partnership with sim racing giants Fanatec. Labelled as a new licensing partnership, the Fanatec x Nissan deal will see the German-based company develop officially licensed sim racing steering wheels linking to the Japanese marque’s heritage. It appears just one wheel will be developed, with Fanatec saying it’ll have “a strong focus on craftsmanship, ergonomic precision, and visual authenticity to ensure sim racers feel fully connected to the road and immersed in the experience”. The companies have yet to reveal what vehicle the wheel will be based on, whether it’ll take inspiration from the GT-R family, the Z cars or one of Nissan’s many racers. “We are thrilled to welcome Fanatec on board and are excited to collaborate with them on this new, exciting, licensed category extension for Nissan,” said Nissan senior manager, Yukika Sato. “We have long-standing gaming partners that we support and an avid global fan base of keen sim racers, so we are sure this licensed product will be a welcome addition!” Fanatec already offers a number of licensed steering wheels for its wheel bases based on existing designs, with Porsche, BMW and Bentley offering their racing car cockpits as the basis of the sim racing products. Nissan is also no stranger to racing-based video games, having been closely associated with Gran Turismo through the ‘GT Academy’ partnership, which ran between 2008 and 2016.

Project ACCESS opens F1 STEM pathways for underrepresented students at British GP Fifteen first-time Grand Prix guests visited Red Bull Racing’s Silverstone garage through Driven By Us, Silverstone UTC and Girls on Track UK. Project ACCESS brought 15 first-time Grand Prix guests into the Formula 1 paddock at Silverstone last Friday, giving students and aspiring motorsport professionals from underrepresented groups direct access to Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology during the British Grand Prix weekend. The project involved three partner organizations: Driven By Us, Silverstone UTC and Girls on Track UK. Participants were given behind-the-scenes access to the Red Bull Racing campus, the Silverstone paddock, live garage operations, team radio, engineering conversations and career guidance during a working race weekend. Driven By Us describes itself as a community-driven organization working to empower aspiring leaders from ethnic minorities and underrepresented groups in the automotive and motorsport industry. Silverstone UTC, which opened in September 2013, is based at the Silverstone racing grounds and focuses on High Performance Engineering, Cyber Security and Business with Events Management. Girls on Track UK is described as a national initiative designed to inspire, educate and support girls and young women into motorsport and related careers through events, workshops and career insight sessions. Dr. Marcia Goddard, a neuroscientist and high-performance consultant who has worked with Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology, shared details of the initiative on LinkedIn. She said the 15 guests had never previously attended a Grand Prix. A new Richmond entertainment venue is giving locals the chance to feel the rush of motorsport without getting behind the wheel of a real race car, with full-motion rigs, VR headsets and head-to-head racing roaring seven days a week. Sim Racing Adelaide is designed to make the feeling of motorsport more accessible, giving first-timers, families, motoring enthusiasts and groups a way to experience racing without the cost, pressure or barriers of a real track day. The centre was founded by race car driver Ivan Vantagiato, who has spent more than 23 years in motorsport after first starting in go-karting. Taking the checkered flag for the second of two Mazda MX-5 races at Mid-Ohio last month in fourth position, the 19-year-old Austin, Texas native looks to carry that momentum forward at a fast and flowing track he saw for the first time earlier this week: however, like most young drivers, Stallone initially learned CTMP’s layout via the simulator – though he recognizes that the sim has its limitations. “The sensation of speed isn’t there, which can hurt you more at a track like CTMP,” said Stallone. “I use virtual reality because it makes you feel a bit like you’re in the car, which is a bit more realistic, but the MX-5 on iRacing is still reasonably realistic. What does help for me is to run cars that are a few steps up, like a GT4 or GT3 car on the CTMP layout, or even an Indy car – that way, I can corner faster and get kind of used to carrying a lot of speed through those high commitment, high speed corners, and learn how to really throw the car into corners hard and trust that it will stick.
