Zusammen mit V1.6.9.8 erscheinen auch zwei neue Erweiterungen. Das neue "Historic Track Pack Pt4"-DLC mit Klasse-1-Strecken aus den 2000er Jahren und der Hungaroring. Ferrari Hamilton could not pick off Russell into Turn 1 despite gambling on a soft tyre start. That left him pitting earlier than the Mercedes cars on a three-stop strategy. But he had a lot of pace on both the medium and hard tyres, closing in on Russell and was set to challenge for the win until a VSC stoppage handed him a cheap final pit stop. That saw Hamilton come out in the lead, and from there he was imperious as he galloped to a first Ferrari win by nearly 20 seconds. I'm sure some people aren't going to like this, but speaking as a fan of racing games, I think they've been kinda boring for a while. I dunno, it's difficult. You look at racers over the last 10 years or so, and it's hard to argue against them in some respects. They're broadly very well made. The problem I personally have is that, for me, racing games have fallen into a bit of a rut. A lot of the biggest ones today are either sims or open world racers absolutely rammed with licenced vehicles. In other words, you're an Assetto Corsa, or a Gran Turismo 7, or a Forza Horizon. It feels as though a lot of big budget racing games fit somewhere along that spectrum. All fine games, by the way. I'm not really here to slag them off; they're all extremely good at what they set out to do, and they're clearly popular. I just think it's gotten a bit dull seeing somewhat similar racers come and go. I have no doubt Forza Horizon 6 is as good as people say, but frankly I'm struggling to get excited for its arrival on PS5 because I know exactly what it'll be like. I haven't played it, but I sort of have, you know?

'We’ll be there soon' – Norris 'very happy' to finish on podium in Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix Lando Norris claimed only his second Grand Prix podium of the season having run towards the front of the field throughout in Barcleona. Lando Norris believes McLaren have "just got to keep our heads down" in order to challenge for victories again, having finished on the podium in the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. The reigning World Champion claimed only his second Grand Prix rostrum of the season in Sunday's 66-lap race, having shadowed the Mercedes of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli throughout. With Lewis Hamilton claiming his first victory for Ferrari on a three-stop strategy, as opposed to the two employed by Mercedes and McLaren, as well as a late retirement for Antonelli, Norris was left happy with third. "It was a tough race, I did my best to keep up with these guys [Hamilton and Russell] but [they were] too quick. We stayed there, we gave ourselves a chance if anything happened, and we obviously got a bit lucky with Antonelli going out," said Norris immediately after the race. "But otherwise very happy, very happy for the team, very happy to be back on the podium, so a good day for us." With Ferrari joining Mercedes as the only teams to have taken a Grand Prix victory this season, Norris believes McLaren's MCL40 requires "a little bit of everything" in order to close the gap. "We’re doing a good job as a team, I think we’re making good progress but these guys are just doing a better job, so we have to give credits to them and admit that to ourselves, that we’ve got to keep working hard, we’ve got to keep putting in the effort," he added. Lanesplit, the traffic-weaving motorcycle racing simulator created by solo developer FunkyMouse, arrives on PC via Steam VR on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The game now promises more bikes, and a surprise cast of real-world playable characters added to both the base game and the VR version. According to a new press release for the new VR mode, players should “Strap on a helmet, flip down the visor, and ride with reckless abandon from a whole new perspective. Go from fearless to feathering the gas to survive suddenly slippery conditions with the addition of Thunderstorms, worsening road conditions in an instant.” Two new electric bikes and three new gas-powered bikes will also be added to the game, bringing the total to 20 hyper-fast motorcycles to choose from. Players will also be able to earn in-game currency after every run, then purchase both new rides and fresh outfits. The game also features a rising drum-and-bass soundtrack that intensifies alongside the speedometer. Hit the road solo or in multiplayer as a fully customizable speed demon, or ride as one of the newly added playable characters modeled after real-world motorcycle content creators like Brian636, CyborgAngel, and GhostRider. “Lanesplit captures the real-world thrills of motorcycle riding without the associated risk,” said Shakya Ranatunga, founder and solo developer at FunkyMouse, in a press release. “With objects whizzing past peripheral vision in VR, we can truly be in the rider’s seat and experience the thrills that Brian636, CyborgAngel, and GhostRider share with their communities on a regular basis.” FunkyMouse is a solo independent game developer founded by Shakya Ranatunga, a video game designer based in Canada. I’ve been sim racing for 6 years, and then I tried real-life racing — here are 3 things I wish these games taught me Don't get too ahead of yourself, sim racer! So there I was — Silverstone. The track that created so many moments for me as a spectator and a sim racer, but now I’m in my single-seater racer and ready to drive my first ever laps in real-life. The drizzle darkening the tarmac with a rather scary-looking slickness, the smell of fuel, and the coarse texture of the steering wheel fabric all fueling the adrenaline. This is a huge contrast to my six years of confidence driving the best sim racers out there, as I immediately realized that a real formula car does not care about your virtual safety rating. But much like a lot of my friends who make the jump from the virtual to physical world, I went in with the world of confidence. “If I’ve mastered this in sim, I should be fine here,” I told my Dad. “It’s a realistic simulation after all.” Not true. Not true at all. Don’t get me wrong: there are some lessons you learn in sim racing that you take with you, but taking to the real track is on a different level. It’s a life-changing experience — a scary one but also some of the most heart-pounding fun I’ve ever had.
