Confirmed: The Maverick Games AAA driving game will be unveiled 2nd June

Original story: Maverick Games, a UK-based studio fronted by former Forza Horizon developers, has confirmed the unveiling time and date for its first driving video game. Described as a “narrative-led, open-world driving game”, a livestream teaser campaign began recently in earnest. A Fiat Multipla was placed at the Leamington Spa studio, equipped with cameras, and used to broadcast live upcoming hints and a podcast. It includes a countdown time, ending on the 2nd of June, which we speculated as the date the game will be formally revealed. This is now confirmed for Tuesday, 2nd June at 11 am BST / 6 am EST / 3 am PST. Ahead of then, further teaser images have been showcased, confirming Aston Martin models (Valhalla and Vantage) and reaffirming customisation. So far, an image of a Porsche looks to have shown optional wheels and graphics, the latter of which is clear on the Vantage screenshot. Meanwhile, the in-person Fiat MPV has been modified with a large exhaust and rear wing, further hinting at modification options in-game. A further clue could be seen inside the uniquely styled vehicle, with what appears to be some kind of grappling hook contraption – possibly indicating distinct gameplay mechanics to traditional open-world racing games like the aforementioned Forza Horizon and The Crew. 2026 Formula One Monaco Grand Prix, Preview 02 June 2026 Formula One's European season begins as BWT Alpine Formula One Team heads to Monte Carlo for the Monaco Grand Prix. Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto will take on the legendary Circuit de Monaco, the first race in a double header with the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. The iconic track featured on the very first Formula One calendar in 1950 and the drivers still compete on a very similar layout to the original course. Corners such as Sainte Devote, the Hairpin and Piscine are steeped in history with famous races from every decade of the sport. The Monaco Grand Prix is the first non-Sprint race weekend since the Japanese Grand Prix in March with all three practice sessions allowing for the drivers to build up more confidence before heading into Qualifying. The team's Alpine Academy drivers are back in action in Monaco following a successful Montréal debut for Gabriele Mini, who continues to lead the standings in FIA Formula 2. Gabriele and Alex Dunne both scored podium finishes across the weekend with Kush Maini also securing a points finish. All three will be aiming to continue their momentum in Monte Carlo. As the sole rookie in this year’s Formula 1 field, Arvid Lindblad has gone under the radar at Racing Bulls, but he’s been quietly getting on with the job and impressing some very experienced people in his team. Montreal was perhaps the Briton's best and most convincing weekend so far in his short F1 career, even if he didn’t get to start the main race, and now he faces the biggest test for any newcomer – his first Monaco Grand Prix. This hasn’t been an easy time to be a rookie. Felipe Massa's former race engineer, Rob Smedley, said he had asked around inside the Ferrari garage about Lewis Hamilton's approach to simulator work, only to be met with 'shrugged shoulders' in response. Back in Miami, Hamilton had already revealed that he no longer planned to rely on the simulator as part of his race-weekend preparation. Since then, the early signs have done little to challenge that decision, with some of his strongest performances of the year coming without any simulator work beforehand. The seven-time world champion secured his first podium of the season in Shanghai during the first race weekend in which he opted not to use the simulator, before repeating the feat in Montreal to claim his second podium since joining Ferrari. Speaking on the High Performance Podcast, Smedley revealed that he had spoken to several people within Ferrari about Hamilton's decision to skip simulator work, but received little more than shrugged shoulders in response: "I spoke to a couple of guys there who kind of shrugged their shoulders when I asked about it. "He said that he didn't - he refused to go and do his work on the simulator in Canada. And that's what gave him the freedom because he thinks that the simulator was perhaps dragging him in directions that he didn't like. So he said, 'I'm not going to do it this time.' Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: GT-One in a Million

A new week brings a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with three fresh events now live and running through next Monday. Race C is arguably the one to look at this week. It reads as a Gr.2 race, but the entry list is really just three specified cars: the Toyota GT-One (TS020) ’99, the McLaren F1 GTR Race Car ’97, and the Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM ’98. That’s three of the late-’90s GT1 era’s most evocative machines sharing a grid over 12 laps of Fuji, and it should be a fantastic-looking field. The GT-One joined GT7 in the 1.44 update back in 2024, dropping into Gr.2 next to the McLaren and the Mercedes that were already there. It’s the #3 that ran at the front at Le Mans in 1999 before a late blowout settled the result, and seeing it alongside other legends reason enough to load this one up. There’s a 2x fuel multiplier, heavy 6x tire wear, and a single mandatory pit stop. Race A heads to the Tokyo Expressway (East Clockwise route) for four laps in the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo, the brand’s “VGT” concept in its racing-series trim. A Vision Gran Turismo car as the fixed machine for a spec race is always a slightly polarizing pick. It runs on Racing Hard tires with a 2x tire multiplier, and BOP is set to (H). Race B is the short one: four laps of the Yas Marina Circuit in Gr.3 cars on Racing Hards. It’s a rolling start with brake balance the only setting left open, so it’s a quick sprint around the Abu Dhabi venue with no pit-stop wrinkle to manage.
